    Fire watch.

    In Northern California for the last five years we lived there we were so paranoid about wildfires that we slept in shifts all summer. We also kept a vehicle in the garage packed with the valuables and important papers ready to flee at a moment's notice.

    The times we were evacuated were stressful to say the least. Car camping in a parking lot with a thousand or so other people covered in soot is not fun. Especially when it goes on for several days. Or a month as happened last year near San Francisco (I missed that one thank God). Entire towns have been wiped off the map, as has happened in Australia also.

    I pray for your safety and hope the bushfires are not fierce this year.

    Its been rather dreary and cold here today in Colwyn Bay.

    I ALWAYS let the staff go home when the thermometer hit 90 degrees F. LOL! Better to be at the beach than sweating over a stinking hot printing press.

    Thank you mate , I am also hoping for a summer without bad bushfires ,I have been a volunteer fire fighter with my local brigade for 12 years and after last year I would really like a quiet Christmas and New Year without being called out to put out fires.
    I totally understand how you feel about being evacuated and not knowing whether you are going to have a home to return to.
    Anyway it's cooled off finally,hopefully it will stay cool for the rest of the day.

    Oh Gee, you posted my picture online... as an (almost) pure bred Scot I have red hair and freckles, and am kind of pudgy like that kid :)

    Glad my light-handed touch is appreciated. Although there are some who would say I am the opposite, I know my true self and understand that others may not speak the truth out of jealousy, fear, and paranoia...or worse.

    Hey there Bob! I now appreciate you more and more, VOLUNTEER fire fighters save the world. I have worked in a fire camp... but not on the lines. I was the Fire Information Officer. But firefighters are the best...and under appreciated mostly. It's hot. dirty, nasty dangerous work. Thank you for your service to humanity.

    BTW do you bake cookies or just like to eat them?
