Overnight clouds came in and the temperatures dropped further. 'Twas cool enough overnight to pull a light blanket over me.

Today November 11 2020 is Veteran's Day, Remembrance Day, Red Poppy Day.... what do you mean Red Poppy Day?

    H._Piffard_-_The_Thin_Red_Line_-_restoration.jpg

Harold H. Piffard (1867–1938) was a British artist and illustrator. This illustration by Piffard, entitled The Thin Red Line, appeared in the 1917 edition of the magazine Canada in Khaki. It depicts a narrow belt of poppies separating a war-ravaged scene from a stretch of peaceful countryside. The scarlet poppy has come to be seen as a symbol of remembrance. Macaulay, quoting an account of a 1693 battle in Flanders, wrote that "the ground was strewn with skulls and bones of horses and men, and with fragments of hats, shoes, saddles, and holsters. The next summer the soil, fertilised by 20,000 corpses, broke forth into millions of scarlet poppies." Similarly, the opening verse of the World War I poem "In Flanders Fields" refers to poppies springing up among the graves of war victims in Belgium. - Wikipedia

Good Thursday morning to all on HIP.

You can look in on two live CCTV Cameras which are located outside over our patio door.
This so you can see how the weather is here in Colwyn Bay UK right now.

Well it may be a tad nippy Boozercruiser, but the sun is shining and it's looking like a gorgeous afternoon to go dancing in the sun.

And gee, I don't miss digging the car out of the snow (as if I EVER did anything like that! NOT!)

Again a bit nippy for this Tropical Kid! But lovely... I see from the webcam there are many seals playing by the pier...

But WAIT! They are not seals, they are lost Hawaiian surfers, far from home and having to wear full wet suits to handle the cold water. Brrrrrr!!!!

    You northerners are strong!

Well I consider myself educated now... I had never ever heard of Sister Rosetta Tharpe, but now I am hooked and going off to find more vids.

She's the best! Love the guitar, the coat, the train station and the intro is priceless. So cool.

    Thank you for that Candy!

It's just another day here. Ho hum. The tourists are arriving. And they DON'T WEAR MASKS!

Gonna be problems soon! I am not happy to see so many smiling faces actually, I'd prefer masks.
