What a lovely afternoon! Is that a ghost cruise ship anchored offshore? We had a bunch of them earlier this year. They keep moving them around in hopes of finding passengers LOL!
Sun is shining! All seems well except for the busy traffic. As my Dutch friend keeps saying "it's all shit" but I don't believe it. I see happiness she sees despair. I think her expectations are higher, she's a young thing. And I am old...
Yes Zen it has been a lovely day here with the sun shining, so we went for a lovely walk along the promenade while the tide was in. Temperature only around 11c but still a treat to be out. .... It is evening of course now, and I am just about to watch Premier League Football on Sky TV. Will catch up on the forum later. And did you know?
@Boozercruiser Nice day for you! How much does the tide go up and down there. Here it is only a couple of feet, but up north in the Sea of Cortez the tides range over 30 feet. Fleets have been lost in the surge unknowingly (dastardly Spaniards with their missionaries). And yes Forest Fires are pesky .. I have seen too many.
Thanks for asking the question Zen I have a tides app on my telephone and I use that for deciding when to go for a walk, as I like to go out when the tide is high if I can. My app tells me that today high tide at 14.45PM was 6.7 mtrs (so around 20 feet). Tomorrow high tide is at 03.16AM and 6.5 mtrs and high again at 15.33PM and 6.4 mtrs (around 19feet). Sometimes the tide gets up to 9 mtrs (around 28feet) and it can crash over the promenade and the promenade has to be closed off, and there can be a flooding problem. When we get a high tide like that I will video and post it on your thread. In that event I will try and not get washed away! HELP! @Boozercruiser I love that Shark!!! Yay! And yes please don't get washed away, that's an awesome tidal surge!
Thanks Zen. Already been out for a nice walk for the morning papers, and although it is only 12c it doesn’t feel too bad. Took a couple pictures to add here soon, and the tide is out. Now I am settling down for football as my team EVERTON play Manchester United kick off 12.30PM. I so hope we beat them. Have a lovely day yourselves . @Candy Gal I hope the mist has lifted by now and sun is shining! Today in La Paz it still seems warm: Today the bay is flat like glass. Weird.
