Sounds like a wonderful man, so sorry to read many of his original recordings were lost in the Universal studios fire... Blue Velvet was a classic hit!
.... Good Wednesday evening all weather watchers and reporters and people who take a peek at my CCTV cameras. Only 9c now at 17.53PM and dark outside. I usually post earlier than this but I have had such a busy day with one thing and another! I have purchased a new Naim Star amplifier and have been setting that up. No easy job! ... I know exactly where that is a good friend of mine lives in Sterling just east of Princeton. If you were still living on that farm you would likely be waking up to 1-2 inches of snow on Friday morning, unlike the coastal regions where we're not expecting anything more than those big fat snowflakes you catch on your tongue as a kid, which leave you with an ever so slight aftertaste.
My sister was born in Worcester, Dad wrecked the Studebaker on the way to the hospital, February is brutal up there. Is the car museum still around?
...... Good morning all weather watchers and reporters. Wet and Windy here in North Wales all day so I don’t know if we will get out for a long walk later. Glad to see the wind has calmed a bit, your porch swing seems stable. Your garden is so GREEN! Happy day... Good morning everyone! It's just before 8 AM here in La Paz.
Last night it dipped down and felt quite chilly. This morning is still, no wind, but sunny and chilled a bit as well. Yesterday was actually cool enough to open the house most of the day and the air conditioner was not run at all. Happy me. We discovered last night the cistern is just about empty, with less than two inches of water. No notice from the water works, of course. Asked the neighbors and the say their is rationing occurring, as some of the cities wells have run dry. Add to that the fact that Mexicans refuse to pay their water bills. The news did not discuss any rationing, but said the water company was millions of pesos in arrears. Probably did not pay the power bill for the pumps! Whatever, seems ZERO DAY may have found us faster than we expected as this city has grown too large in a desert. Pumping out the ground water with no recharging means it will run out...eventually. Speaking of water. I test it regularly with a PPM meter. (Parts per million of solids.) In Northern California the tap water ran about 300 ppm from the nearby contaminated lake after filtering. From the Reverse Osmosis machine under the sink the drinking water was usually about 19 - 20 ppm. Here in La Paz, the tap water runs about 900 - 1000 ppm. There is no RO machine in the house, so we buy the large bottles of drinking water from a local plant that has reverse osmosis. The water from there has about 18 ppm and is good for drinking and cooking. Well, at 9 am I can call a company to get a truck deliver some water to the cistern, that should last a few days.
Ha! The local news reports the water district is losing 40 % of it's water to leaky pipes in the old part of town. Clues are surfacing...more to come!
