I am glad you all survived Hurricane Ida... what a trashy lady! What a mess she left, so sad. Here it is blue skies and sunshine today. Last evening I strolled down the Malecon waterfront after dinner. The sky was seemingly on fire, and the hammerhead sharks are dancing!
Angel, Deidre darlings, and everyone else who was in the path of Hurricane Ida I am pleased you are alive and well and unhurt.
The powers that be have lowered us from level three COVID watch to level two, so now all the taco stands are open, and the party rolls on... And now at dawn it is just 73 F outside. Nice! But it may get to 93 later on with these blue skies and sunshine!
Thankfully, it missed my area but it’s heartbreaking to see the destruction it did to New Orleans and the Northeast! I’m amazed by the flooding in NJ and NYC.
The area I live in is one of the hardest hit areas. We had no way in and out town. There was also 2 possible tornadoes. We were landlocked. By Friday morning. We were able to get out of town.
September is here! Last few mornings have gotten down in the 50's only to get up in the 80s pretty fast.
I noticed a nice change when September arrived... cooler evenings and nights. But it still climbs into the 90s in the daytime here. Perfect for drying the sheets and towels in the sun
I’m glad you’re all okay! Were there no warnings at all from your local weather networks? It seems like no one was prepared at all.
Thanks. We are glad also. 27 deaths is the latest and some still missing. One guy was found 2 miles down stream with his truck partially buried in mud. As for the warnings. Hardly any at all. And they all came hours after the heavy rain started. By then it was too late. I was able to travel freely today. Only one section of a road I went today was closed. Easily went around but cutting through a development. Only abandoned vehicles left really are semis stuck in parking lots where it flooded.
No sun today. Possible rain today. Rained this morning while I was fishing. Still caught a lot. Today I will be re-washing my car as I drove through mud to get to my destinations. No big deal. Keeps me busy.
I wonder why the weather stations in the area weren't more prepared, so they could prepare the public? It's just odd that they didn't remotely anticipate any of what happened.
Happy Moonday Everyone! We made it through another weekend, bravo! Guess you didn't OD on tequila shots, a good thing. I did not either... so I am feeling fine today But here is a reminder for all of you wondering about this dire question of importance: Enjoy!
This isn't the 1st time. A few years back. The state dropped the ball for a snow storm we had that crippled everything.
