    Do you like AMAZING coffee?

You should try some organic from Mexico. Since moving here I have fallen in love with coffee.

There is a little shop on the corner by the cathedral downtown that roasts and grinds fresh beans every day, beans from the mainland of course (we are down in Baja Sur). The aroma hits you in the chest when you walk by, so of course I had to try some on my first day in town.

    AMAZING!

The beans are from Veracruz state.

Not the first time I've seen frost in July here, gave up growing sweet corn 20 years ago because the hassles froze on July 28th.

I miss running a garden patch. It is one of the great joys in life. Here in Baja Sur there is little water for that. I have few plants, only ones that are native or desert adapted. Yard is gravel... but maintenance free pretty much. We do have a pesky iguana determined to eat all the fresh green shoots off the Bougainvillea bush. I had a stern talk with the lizard about that. He gave me a cold stare. Hmmmm.

    It's feast or famine.

48% of the country is experiencing drought conditions, and here it's rained every day in July and the rivers and streams
    are approaching flood stage.

It's so freaking crazy... the past couple of years have been off the charts for novelty.

Terrance McKenna seems to have been right about his time wave theory.

Terrance McKenna, there's a name from out of the past.

I heard him interviewed a couple of time on coast to coast am hosted by Art Bell.

I just dismissed him as another crackpot

Oh my, he was not a crackpot... indeed he was quite prophetic.

I saw him speak in San Francisco, it was disturbing to see his 'fans' rush the stage demanding drugs. Security had to escort some out...

He is hard to listen to, but the work he did with a mathematician named Sheliak resulted in the Time Wave Theory regarding novelty and chaos in our civilzation.

The result was a piece of computer software that calculated the intensity of chaos or normality at any one point in history, and the future, which extended until the year 2021. Which is when the 'novelty' curve descends into utter chaos and civilization begins to unravel.

I think he got it right, but it is taking longer for us to self-destruct.

Others think we are heading down the highway to hell even faster.

Both Terrance and his brother were respected biologists studying entheogenics. Check it out online.

Another summer day to report here. Air conditioning is running. Systems check OK. Floor still needs washing, but motivation is hard to find at times.
