We can avoid this through axiomatic application, why do you call me good, only god is good.

Not well versed on theology but wasn't Easter when Jesus was crucified, placed in a tomb, arose three days later, and upon exiting, saw his shadow and declared six more weeks of winter?

He didn't spell out any such plan. But he did make it pretty clear that military expansion was the goal. Lebensraum. If you'll pardon my German.

If God is indefinable, then to say 'god is good' is surely a mistake of trying to define the indefinable.

Yes, he was honest about lebensraum, but he never told his people what he did or plan to do with the Jews. Same with some other intentions. He was clear about some but not about some other, that had very serious consequences.

Why are you discussing that here and not in the do(es) God(s :p) exist thread? :bobby: It feels a bit redundant to talk about God's existence anyway (I've done it many times) but especially in several threads at the same time :D

Because I don't see much point in such arguments, no one can prove that god exists or doesn't exist.

To set the record straight, I don't buy into the concept of the Biblical or Koranic God. That's not to say there isn't some form of higher intelligence or being.
I don't like to maintain any fixed ideas about that.
There's more that appeals to me in Hinduism in some forms, but I'm still agnostic about that. Same attitude towards things like Taoism and neo-shamanism.
My hope is to try to get away from fixed ideas about it all.

You don't see much point in such arguments, but I have seen you starting such arguments with a comment and by answering to the responses to those original comments in different threads several times ;)

I can't recall entering into the basic argument 'does god exist' in recent times. I agree I've been critical of religions, but I've never taken a hardline materialist/atheist stance.

you left out the qualifier only. God only is good is the statement, without claiming any measure of either god or goodness.
My point is why call anything good or, leave it to the indefinable to decide what we can only perpetually arbitrate. Good is not my concern being naturally devoted to my own cause. Since there is time and place for all things eventful, helpful is a matter of timing and place not of moral virtue.

No. Seriously, Jesus aka Yeshua ben Yosef.

I'm descended from Joseph of Arimathea Ben Matthat.

Ofcourse, even the word itself says so. Christmas. Christ mas. The day when Jesus Christ, our beloved saviour, got his mass (meaning he was born, get it?).
