Easter to some, Passover to some, and the worship of Ishtar to others. To each their own.

Aerianne, you know why you have to hunt for Easter eggs?

The Easter Bunny hides them so you won't know he's been fucking chickens again!

no belief has ever made any one culture more legitimate then another. only being longer in one place does. and then, only in that place.

thus there is no legitimate 'american' culture. but there are many legitimate indiginous cultures in the western hemisphere, on the continents which are called north and south america.

no one named jesus died for the sins of anyone except the roman empire, which exicuted him as a terrorist, for having lead an insurrection against it when he was 12 years old. he may however, when he was thirty years old, and for the then remaining three years of his life, have manifested, that is to say, been choosen by to channel, something powerful, invisible, and well intended, whom christians, moslems and jews, all call their god, and whom christians and islamists both seem to horribly misrepresent.

nor was even moses the first of these. that was who they call first man or adam. of whom moses was the 22nd return, christ the 23rd, mahammid the 24th, and baha'u'llah, in 1863, the 26th

but i question the claims of this or any god's infallibility, and reject utterly, those of extreme factions among any of these beliefs, that it is at war with anything, nor even that there is anything of a status for it to be at war with.

and certainly not at war with ishtarte, who was a peaceful and loving physician.

nor at war in any sense, with the spirit people of nature. even the mischievous and possibly sometimes annoying coyote.

If I'm forgiven in advance for things I haven't done yet, I should sin a lot more often.

If a person dislikes a certain ideology (for example a religious one) it is easy and thus common to look at it from an offensive distorted way and proclaim it out loud often to trigger the people who actually do understand that ideology (or as the disliker likes to put it: confront them with the(ir) truth :p). Rarely worth reacting seriously to.

On second thought, I really don't have time to schedule in any more sin.

I'm pretty sure it was a joke, Piaf and Asmo :sunny:. It's not worth reacting seriously to because it was a joke, not because she was trying to distort the truth in a juvenile way. Just my take. :).

I also think it was just a joke. But after Piaf replied I couldn't help but giving my 2 cents because KarenJ is known to often take her own jokes a bit too seriously when it is about christianity. Perhaps not at first, but certainly after it gets a witty reply :p

Jesus' death served only as the instrument of guilt that forces Christians to stay needy and dependeant on exterior sources of absolution.

He didn't need to die for mass absolution. Love could've granted that to everyone without the death. But then, they'd have no ammo to keep us guilty with. 'Hey, remember that Jesus died for you? You should be a good little soldier and ask for forgiveness. Open up that wallet while you're there.'
