actually we don't know it isn't going to happen. we know a lot of people think they get something out of preventing it. not the same thing at all. and it will happen, for a reason even more people don't want. we're all going to be very sick, and most who aren't already dead will die from it, and those who survive, will be few and not very interested in making wars nor have the capacity to do so on anything resembling today's scale. this will result from what we have already done to the environment.

To have peace one must acknowledge violence. Dualism is like a coin flip it and you never know which way it will land, however the opposition is always there. The accepted idea of world peace is wondrous yet to my mind it is singularly unachievable.
dualism is also however, an arbitrary and invented conceptualization, nothing in the observable universe requires. all bets are off when everyone you know is dying of diseases no one has ever heard of and there aren't enough of you still alive to pump oil or mine coal. also y2k earth was on the brink of world peace, which is the real reason 'conservative' politics insisted on 9-11 to prevent it, because the one percent loosing money on arms sales was more important then the majority of people's lives. probably the real reason kennidy was killed too. at any rate these were conscious decisions which no 'cosmic balance' motivated nor required. nearly all national scale conflicts have political or economic roots which can be seen and which people who do not hate logic or consideration can foresee and avert.
