But an easy way to lower defenses. There are other ways.

I dunno... school puts me in a pretty agitated state, and being a night person I only get about 6 hours of sleep maximum, usually four or five because I have to catch the school bus at 7 every day.

Like you said before, though, its more like conditioning. Brainwashing may be a bit of an exaggeration.

For a lot of people, in my opinion, school just prepares them to be tools of society.

What, exactly, would you have them do differently?

Starting school later would be a big plus. There are people who have been trying to get it to happen, and it has in some areas. Alternative schools sometimes start at about noon, but thats's a different story. A lot of people at school are just tired as hell because of the time it starts, and then they get yelled at for falling asleep in class, not paying attention, yawning and whatever. Most teenagers have trouble waking up early and going to sleep early, its part of the body developing. If high school and elementary/middle schools could switch school starting times around here, it'd be a lot better. Starting school early and ending it early gives more time for after school activities, though.

And I don't know what I'd like them to do differently considering the agitated state aspect of school. A lot of the education seems very pointless to me and most of my homework seems much more as an analysis of how well I can do what I'm told and how much work I'm willing to do rather than contributing to my learning experience. Busy work, basically, that just leaves me stressed out with piles of assignments to do at once. My feelings can be easily dismissed as typical teenage feelings of rebellion and apathy, though.

I've also got a little bit of wine in my system, so I apologize if any of this makes no sense. There's a lot more I'd have schools do differently, but, I'd probably make myself look like an ass trying to explain them right now.

Whenever my sleep schedule gets out of whack my performance in school just drops significantly for a significant amount of time.
