To those who live(d) in communes, got any good recipes you learned from there?

My mother, who lived in at least one communal area in the 1980s, learned how to cook very proficiently while living in them. Did you learn how to cook when you lived there/at the current one you're living in? What recipes did you learn there that you are willing to share?
