    That would be nice...

Their core of stupid voters will find some other party equally as bad, though. It's not like they will suddenly vote Democrat.

Not a problem. The idiots chose Donald Duck, a carpet bagger, to help the south rise again! We shall send a lot of carpet baggers this time! With IRS agents and others.

It's been proven to be difficult to free ones self from cult-like behavior. If you accept the basic premises--you'll accept all that follows.

When cult leaders saw that it was all coming to an end...

Charles Manson sent his followers on a murderous rampage.
Jim Jones made them all drink cyanide Kool-Aid.
David Koresh burned them alive inside his compound.
Donald Trump sent tens of thousands of them to attack the Capitol Building.

Thing is that I was not aiming my post at those that would swallow the cool-aid, those past all redemption, I’m interested in those that still hold onto sanity but who neither the less voted for Trump and the Republican Party as it now stand.

I mean can all the 74,222,958 people that voted for Trump be put in the cool-aid drinkers line?

It would be terrifying to think so that would mean 46.8 percent of voting Americans have lost touch with reality and the real world.

Think of that in terms of the quote Piobaire has posted

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
    Voltaire

But I can’t believe that, because if true the US is in even greater danger than I thought.

Understood. And of those 74,222,958 people, how many would vote for him now? Trump's base has shrunk considerably and Republicans no longer need to be afraid of it. But there will always be those who don't like the Democrats' agenda and will continue to support the Republicans as long as they get rid of Trump.

They're Republicans because they can't be Nazis because National Socialism has "socialism" in the title and therefore Libtards are actually the real Nazis because giving people health care is demonic.

Yup--you nailed me---if I am whom to which you are referring. I'm a judgemental motherfucker when it comes to right wingers, although as I have said---ANYONE, right left or middle that brings guns to legitimate protests or tries to storm the seat of our government---needs serious jail time. Plus, I just don't like republicans ways of governing or thinking/acting towards working people and have been observing their horseshit since the 40s , 50s.

Yeah it fits except the hypocracy part. Antifa or anyone else that tears peoples shit up--ruins businesses , or harms others should go to jail. As i have said, peaceful protest is guaranteed by the constitution and those that don't adhere to the peaceful part---should be punished.

And all of the above is true ...

and as I said earlier in this thread politics is NOT sports rooting for a single party just because is insane, it should always be the best person for the job no matter the party affiliation

It should be the best idea, argument and policy for the situation - and as i keep pointing out many right wingers give their support to ideas, arguments and policies presented by right wing politicians that they are unable to defend from valid criticisms

That is not 'judgmental crap' that is just the honest truth that has played out in the many threads of hipforums.

I mean i ask again can anyone defend the Republican Party in any rational and reasonable way, can they defend its policies, its arguments, its ideas when it has aided and abetted Trump?

Whether its rational or reasonable is debatable but a portion were doing what their constituents expected of them and a portion were out for political gain and the smallest part are just stupid or insane qanon followers.. so right or wrong they were following the will of the people they represented which is what they are supposed to do

Exactly - only through honest and open debate can it be worked out whether some idea or policy is rational or reasonable – the problem is that many if not most right wingers refuse to debate at all or don’t do honestly or openly.

You seem to be talking of the political candidates here but my point was how can reasonable and rational voters vote for a Republican Party that has now been taken over by a core of conspiracy theory believing fanatics that is putting up as candidates people that are openly Q anon supporters/believers?

Or are you saying that there are now no reasonable and rational Republican voters? That all those voting Republican know that they are often voting for (in your words) the ‘insane and stupid’ but they just don’t care?

I mean if you vote for the insane or stupid or Nazis, or Stalinist then yes those candidates are doing what they are supposed to do when they act insane, stupid or authoritarian are you saying that Republican voters actually want that?

Is that why they shy away from rational or reasonable debate?

Americans have been voting for whoever advertises the most for over twenty years. Testing their dna has proven to be the most accurate way to determine how they vote, and forty years of extensive studies concluded the republican party organizes along the lines of a flock of chickens. You might as well ask the Three Stooges why they are so stupid.
