Now, I don't know how to take that. I live in the Pacific NW, but I come from TX originally. HaHa. Are you saying that cuz of Bush? You know that my Dad lives in Southern TX - Bush country and it is the most economically depressed area. His house is not worth a third of mine. Bush doesn't take care of his own, does he?
this is really the saddest, stupidest, fucked up thing i've read in my entire life. i think the entire ignorance and stupidity of the world revolves around you. if there really was a "god", he would have struck you down a thousand times and slowly let you die for letting such blasphemic thoughts even come to your head. get a life.
I cannot, for the life of me, see how you would think that God (as you view him) would bother to get involved in politics. Why in the world would He help any of the candidates who have to prostitute themselves and "sell their souls" to be president? What would Jesus think of a man who has led us to a war that has killed tens of thousand civilians in a misguided quest to show how immoral killing innocent civilians is? As God, don't you think he has more important things to do? Like helping sports teams win games, or singers/songwriters win awards? One day you may allow reason to come back to you.
Why do so many people who consider themselves Christian support Bush? It's bizarre. How can anyone who is supposed to be a follower of Jesus Christ support an administration that: 1) Purposefully started an elective preemptive war (not just under the Christian concept of a just war) on a country that had virtually no offensive capability that resulted in the deaths of thousands of civilians including children. You go over to Iraq and look at the maimed bodies of children killed by American bombs and tell me how Christian that is. 2) Is doing all it can to allow crass industries to pollute and otherwise destroy God's creation for profit (as I recall Jesus wasn't too fond of greed and talked a lot about the sanctity of life). 3) Does nothing to help the poor (as I recall, Christ had some pretty strong feelings about the poor). Bush's "compassionate conservatism" is a crock, none of those programs were funded. Also, the number of people in poverty in the US drastically increased during Bush's Presidency 4) Opposes stem cell research which promises to cure many horrible diseases and relieve human suffering 5) Did nothing while the assault weapons ban expired so now anyone can buy military style guns. (Do rapid fire rifles encourage anyone to 'turn the other cheek?), I think not. 6) Has done nothing to help people get healthcare, now how loving is that? The Bush administration supports violence, poverty and dishonesty. And what about "loving your enemy?" Bush might love to insult, kill, and smear his enemies, but I see no signs of love. So why do some (certainly not all) Christians support Bush? Maybe its about abortion, but if you're concerned about the lives of the unborn, what about helping people after they're born? What would Jesus do? Hard to say, but if you actually pick up a Bible and read the quotes attributed to Jesus rather than listening to right-wing interpretations of what he stood for, indications are that Jesus would associate Bush with Caesar and the corruption of Rome that so appalled him.
I never understood the whole "Christians supporting Bush" thing either....it really doesn't make sense at all.
Well some christians are idiots and hear one christian thing from bush and think he's completely good then they ignore everything else he does and what other people say because theres no way they could possible be wrong about anything so it must be everyone else, then, there are others that really have no idea about what makes a christian and what doesn't so they go along with the others because they think there's no way they could be wrong. That is why God has abandoned America, because most of it's people have let themselves be mislead like this. If God wants something done, he doesn't need to do it through a semi retarded monkey boy like bush.
I couldn't agree more, all I Hear from the christians is 'abortion' that's it, and wow, now MoonJava says God hand picked this idiot from Texas to be our president and he works through him, I think God would pick a much more smarter and SANE person to work through than Bush..to me he uses his christianity to get votes..and I think he is one of the most deceitful people there is..now I will get bashed on for saying that, but oh well..
I thought the biggest part about Christianity was forgiveness...why wouldn't god forgive the prisoners instead of executing them while Bush was governor of Texas? And what about forgiving Osama and the hijackers?
well thats complicated, they'll be foriven only if they really mean it, but that doesn't change the actions of other people onto them.
Well you see it's something like this..God CHOSE Bush..so he could go on vacation and BUSH Fucked up..But the christians don't see it that way, cause he's the "chosen one" anyway..the "chosen one" keeps fucking up, and can't admit it and God is having one big laugh right now because they are saying he chose Bush for his "chosen one" to work through..
Has Bush openly forgiven anyone in the last 4 years? Not that I've heard of. How about all of those prisoners who're rotting away without legal representation or fair trials in Bush's concentration camp in Cuba? He hasn't even given them a shot at forgiveness (many of them happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time). Sure prosecute the real terrorists, but give people a fair trial!
you are an idiot. what does yer dead god care about politics? this is why i detest christians, folks.
I'm not saying to forgive whoever did fly the planes into those towers, but that is what "god" would do, and so would the person who was "chosen" by "god."
i'm a christian but i have my own mind. the sad thing is christians will vote for bush for one reason. they believe he is against abortion and kerry is pro choice. niether will change the laws. so i find this reason quite redundant. but as long as bush feeds christians what they want to here on abortion and gay unions he will get there vote. when these are just minor issues when you have innocent people being killed in iraq, health care and the economy. sad thing is most christians are very judgemental and very shallow minded. so if they disaggree with you, they'll just say " i'll pray for you "( which is just plain annoying ) christians should be more concerned about famine, illegal wars, women and children being slaughtered. just my take...
you are very smart! and I myself believe in God, and Jesus, but I don't go to church, I used to go to church, then i was sitting there one day..wondering why do i feel like i have to be here, because everyone 'expected' me too..also I noticed when i looked around me, the people i went to church with, or just people that went to church, they were the most judgmental, snobby, gossiping, hypocritcal people there were..They got angry easy..and preached all the time..now, I believe God is a very loving/caring God, and he is very upset with this world now..especially Americans..also, I believe he is very upset with people who in the name of war, say they are going by his word..and those who do nothing but follow him no matter what he does..no matter how bad he is..or his bad judgements..because after all he is "the one god is working through" by just saying this, and by following him, and saying this is what GOD wants ya'll to do..i think you better pray and pray hard, and let your mind be at ease and clear when you do, because I know to my soul..that following this President is so wrong..this is my vent..and I don't care who gets offended by this..chances are if you are one that does, and when you get defensive, then you will understand, that most of the time defensive means 'wrong' so yeah..think on that one
Yeah, we're shallow...that's exactly why we don't like bush. Too bad it seems like you haven't paid attention to anyhting in the forums though. Point out where we have had said we don't like Bush because he is ugly, or too short, or something, and than maybe we can admit to being too shallow to like Bush. But I think reading the forums you will find plenty of reasons other than shallow ones to speak of. So please stop trying to be pointlessly insulting.
Everyone of you of voting age get out there Tuesday andvote vote vote vote vote democrat please!!!! This election is making me hyper ventilate, I think so much is riding on this. Do you know how many supreme court justices may be placed in the next term? I think much hangs in the balance. So VOTE.
