Most don't get it, most that step up and do the right thing. The last thing they have on there minds when they go into action, is being called a hero. They are just doing the right thing. There are so few people like that left anymore. What happen to caring for our fellow man, most turn and run. A lot just don't care, just a small thing as wearing a mask, puts so many off, they could care less about those around them. When did we lose our way.

I think we started dialing back our social empathy back in the 80's during the me generation as it was good for profit margins and helped keep the people infighting and too self absorbed to notice the oligarchs taking over and we put the nail in the coffin with Jerry Springer when the misfortune of others became our national side-show amusement. Maybe after Rome falls we'll get a chance to find the value in compassion and concern for our fellow man beyond the thin veneer of warm fuzzy bullshittery people like to spew to make themselves at least feel Noble for a while,,,
Americans are too individualistic. We just refuse to do anything that does not help us specificity. To do that would mean we are "communists". I'm positive that is this virus existed during the Cold War it would be a communist plot to not wear a mask. Why else would you want to hurt Americans? But Regan changed all that.
