Actually, if you look throuigh the thread I have picked up on a few things people have said, not just you.

And, yeah I think I know you pretty well. I'm quite sure you don't go out and just throw insults about.

Well, has it ever occurred to you that perhaps someone doesn't like other people telling them what they should be doing? Yes being very over or under weight isn't healthy but if they are happy with the way they are, so are already trying to gain or lose weight, it won't help when someone starts telling them to eat healthier.

Do you think they don't already know their weight?

The PCer’s are out there in force today :(

In a few decades if current trends continue you and I will be the butt of jokes from the "I'll have a double-whopper with cheese" crowd who will be running the whole show

Sorry, are we trampling on your having fun by pointing, laughing and being cruel to people? Shame

All I was saying is that helpful accountabilty isn't what I was refering to, and you were acting like it was.

You can talk about it all you want:rolleyes:

Well, I think you need to learn to read

never said I was intentionally being cruel to anyone, in fact the complete opposite.

You just proved my point- over sensitive.

That's fine. So next time a fat man chokes whilst attempting to eat four burgers at once I guess I am supposed to not care, because he knew what he was doing?

And I fail to see if these people do realize what they are doing (fat and skinny), because unless they enjoy the idea of dying, they haven't got a clue.

And for the record, as I said previously, I would only approach this with family and close friends. Think of it like an intervention, if you will

Good gawd. Do I have to do that tedious "quote every comment because people only read the post right after theirs" thing? Ugh. Thatwas a response to pretty much every post previous to mine.

and I look quite nice in shorts. I have nice legs. But I have the arms of a trucker.

Oi, you, you healthy wanker. Go eat a vegetable!

    too harsh?

Sorry, just didn't want you thinking I was jacking the thread. It's quite the topic in my book, and I have maybe invested myself a little too much- so i'm sorry about that :p

I'm not being ridiculous! That's unfair, it's opinion just like yours.

I put on quite a bit of weight when I was with my last girlfriend, I quite playing sports and sat about for three years and ate takeaway.

I woke up one day, realised what I had become and worked hard to get back into shape. It wasn't easy, it never is, but it was hardly the worst decision I ever made..

I edited my last post before you posted anyways. Wouldn't intervene with a stranger, just those I love. They bloody deserve it for poking at my obvious weight gain at the time, my father begged me to play sport again and I eventually did. I made the decision myself, but he planted the idea in my head.

AND my brother did the same. Last year I gave him a diet plan and told him to take up his childhood passion of running. He was annoyed with me for a while but did take it up

finished the London Marathon this year, he's 4 stone lighter, has a girlfriend and is the happiest I have EVER seen him.

It's ridiculous to start saying you won't bother intervening when an overweight person is choking. Hardly a good joke is it?

Why are you getting so defensive? I have never said you can't advise people, in fact I agreed with you.

think about it like this man..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9ySCcnoo3c"]YouTube- Bill Hicks - non smokers

same concept...they know exactly what they're doing, and they've either tried to change, are changing, or they're willing to deal with the consiquences.

(and lol... Everyones gonna die... Dying early cause of diabetes really doesn't change a lot inthe grand scheme of things, even if you somehow inspire them to change, the outcome is still the same)

My friend is alway cracking me up with random comments. I painted my toenails a nice chocolatey red shade, and she says "somehow it makes your legs look even more toned." *snort*

then when we were at the city pool, she says out of the blue "I think it's your boobs!" I said, what about my boobs? She said " they make you look fat, get a reduction. "

I do look pretty good in my tankini. :D

Nicotine is rated amongst the most addict substances on the planet, if not the most. We all have our hang ups, I smoke. Nobodies perfect, people call me disgusting things because of my habit on a daily basis.

And I was being sarcastic with the dying comment :D
