I got a c-note from an audience member last fall when I sat in on guitar for a coupla songs with this blues band at a local bar.

In street musician lingo, we call that a 'grammy' :2thumbsup:

I read: "Tripping... What is the Largest Dose you Have Given or Received?"

And the answer would be 50mg 2c-t-7 / 150 mg DPT

...but that would be off topic.

The most I have ever tipped was 5$ and I have never received a tip.

I had someone give me $100 once. The most I've given is probably $50 on a $200 dinner bill.

I gave a 50$ tip to a stylist once back in the 80's when I had really long hair.
I don't think it was an excessive tip either, she was very good at what she did.

I had a client in this morning that gave me a $60 tip. She went and picked her son up from school and brought him back in to get his hair done and she gave me another $20 for him. So I got a total of $80 from her today just for a tip. She's always a good tipper though. It's nothing for her to give me $30-$40 for a tip. All together with services + tip she dropped about $450 bucks in my pocket today. Most of my clients that get cut/color tip around $20.

Man, that's decent money, Ruby. You don't ordinarily get tips when you work on roofing, but I got a 50$ and a 100 $ tip. Very unusual, because it costs pretty good size bucks to re-roof right up front.

I bought a screen protector for my phone, after I told him the store down the block wanted $5 or $6 more for the same thing he asked for a couple bucks as a "tip". I ended up givin it to him ($1), but for some reason I felt like such a sucker for doin it.

I got a hundred being a waiter for the head table at a wedding once.

Biggest I've given I think was considerably smaller.

I gave the cute Korean lady who cut my hair the other day a 10$ tip (on a 20$ haircut). That was the largest tip I have ever given in my life, percentage-wise. She did a good job, and we talked about how we both hate lazy fat Americans and the homeless.

The Jew in me still felt like I gave her too much money when I walked out.

Where it comes to money, the dutch are the real jews (that's how we got this glorious nation ). I don't recall giving a tip atm but I'm sure I did give one once. It can't be more than 5 dollars though, unless it was in the czech republic where it was so ridicilously cheap to eat out in good restaurants I probably gave a bigger tip then I would normally :p

Are we talking about food/service industry only here? I've been given huge tips but I shed blood for what I do

Well yeah, being opportunistic is not totally nonsensical indeed.

$30, but it was a group of at least 30 people. I don't make waitress wages. though, so if I don't make any tips at all, I don't throw a fit or anything.
