Why is it that when you have too much time it never really goes by that fast... but when you are running late and need more time, that time seems to disapear. This really ticks me off by the way. Anyone have like a "slow-down-speed-up-remote"? If so... PLEASE SHARE!
School is where I see this occur most with me. No matter how much time I give myself in the morning, I always end up nearly late. Then when I finally get to class, the minutes go by excruciatingly slow.
I guess it's just the way the mind works. If you're excited for something (for example, excited to get out of class), time seems to go by slowly because you're anticipating another minute to go by.... But when you're just hanging out and having fun, time seems to go by quickly because you aren't focused on the minutes going by - you're just enjoying yourself and not thinking about units of time.
I'm still experiencing it in college. It's not nearly as bad, though, since I am in complete control of my schedule and I'm not stuck there for 8 hours at a time. God I don't miss public school.
