Most people I've asked say if they had a time machine they'd want to check out the 60s or the 70s. I'd want to go back to the Biblical times and see if any of that shit actually happened. Like, any of it. If Jesus or Moses or Abraham really existed. And I'd want to see what the real first homosapiens were like. I always had an interest in archaeology and I want to see the origin of the most famous wonders of the world. The construction of Stonehenge, the heads on Easter Island, the pyramids in Egypt. I just want to know so badly.

You don’t need a time machine for that just a good course in history; the builders of Stonehenge were fairly small and frail and at first glance would appear as mere children among the 10 ton boulders since archeological evidence places their average life span at 21 years, on Easter Island there is good evidence of widespread cannibalism so if I were you I’d watch my head real closely, as for the pyramids the mortar used is of unknown origin and can’t be reproduced even with all of our modern science, and yet its stronger than stone and is still holding strong after 4000 years… Hotwater
I would love to go to prehistoric times, before humans existed even. I want to experience a time when all plants , animals, insects are 10 times larger than they are now. Of course I would be eaten within 10 minutes so we would have to come up with a way to make me indestructible as well.
I would take a big sack of cubic zirconium back to the old west days, pawn 'em off as flawless diamonds then live out the rest of my days in a tropical south American villa with my sweet senorita. :2thumbsup:
most people you've asked must be teenagers from hipforums. if i had an actual time machine, i'd be all over the past. and the future, of course. realistically, the 60s or 70s would be a good place to start though, since it's not excessively far from where we are now. you could still communicate with people, there's not diseases floating around that you have no immunity to, etc. it's like how losing your virginity should ideally be with someone else who is in about the same situation, rather than having an orgy with 40 thai prostitutes and 30 farm animals.
Great, fun question......! Yes, wouldn't it be interesting to see who and how the pyramids were being built....among so many other things.....Might want to go into the future, too, to see what this world will be like in say 200 years or so......
Especially if you take into account that the earth is constantly on the move You'd probably end up floating in space in a location the earth was around that time (IF you could accurately travel to a specific date in the past)!
Really I'd like to go back in time just a little, to last night.. and NOT drop the last piece of cheesecake on the floor! grrr
I'd want to go back to the destruction of the first Temple in Jerusalem around 500 BC to find out what happened to the Ark of the Covenant and the tablets of the Ten Commandments. I've gotta believe that the Jews took good care of them and didn't let the Babylonians destroy them. It's one of the great mysteries.
Wouldn't it be fun to go back into time and buy things for a nickel or less than a dollar, and bring them back.... that go for thousands and thousands now? 1st Barbie....certain baseball cards.....etc....
20's ftw! My wedding was 20's themed. There was a giant art deco cake, my bridesmaids were dressed as flappers, and the groomsmen were all dressed in pin striped suits and fedoras. The reception was at a historic train depot with a 14 piece jazz band. Some of the 300 guests dressed up in costume as well. Fun times. It's my favorite era.
My photo albums are all in storage, or I'd post a couple pics. We even had antique trolleys that transported our guests from the ceremony to the reception.
