As long as there are people like Beckner who belittle what others are trying to do to evoke change, there will be none. Switching off your TV will not solve all of Tibet's problems but it definitely won't do their struggle any harm. As makevelli said, it may draw big business' attention to the fact that people don't want to support chinese endeavours.

Politicians, policy-makers and big business rely on your apathy.

somehow i rather doubt that. though not that there are those who would like it to. nor that its the 'people's republic' of standard oil of california that supports the military regeme in mynmar.
