Yes, it's so great. But I rarely go barefoot in the nature...most of the time in the city. I get really dirty feet.

when you go barefoot regularly for about a month, your soles will get tougher, and the glass will be no problem for you...I walk on the street and I know I've stepped on glass, but it does no damage to my feet.

you don't have to be shy...just ignore comments, and when someone looks at you - just smile :) and thing that's important - you shouldn't look shy and embarrased - walk just like you have shoes on :)
I was very shy too, when I began to walk barefoot, especially in the city.

New guy here...been a barefooter since the 7th grade, when I decided to go barefoot to school on Halloween (as part of my costume, otherwise the school wasn't cool with it). I regularly shoot bands around the L.A. area; shot a band tonight where the theme was show up in pajamas and get in free. Saw that as a free opportunity to show up to a stuffy club with trendy fools dressed like a tool, but be able to go barefoot. I never really shot a show with no shoes on before (I tend to move around a lot), so this was a first...of course, plus, I was a tool and wore flannel bottoms and a pajama top, so also a first where I wore pajamas in public in front of drunk people. I spend the whole night in the bar and, despite others in their pjs, was the only one barefoot. They had a burlesque team of girls dancing in between sets...all in heels, although one girl in fishnets, when she almost fell off the stage losing her balance, threw of her 1 inch heels and did her routine barefoot.

I have to say it was an interesting feeling being barefoot in a bar like that. Definitely did step in to a few puddles of beer. I work for the band so I ended up helping them load their gear out onto the street, all without shoes. It was pretty fun and something I'd love to do again.
