Profoundly it is impossible to lie to anyone but you can deceive yourself. Who does the liar lie to? Only those who found out the truth, those that don't, don't know there is a lie. Here is the self deception about inconsistent representation, the idea we get away with it. Reality is, not truthfully. A promoter is a promoter and his specialty is what he promotes. When I was a professional promoter of playing with yo-yo's for the duncan yo-yo company. I appeared on tv commercials as a yo-yo champion and yes the yo-yo guy is sexy Steve Correll, and I liasoned with retail outlets to set up demonstration events, and contests that rewarded prizes for the purpose of creating fad. The personal business card the company gave me said promotion specialist. Anyway sometimes I sound convincing.
The thoughts I really got out of what you said (so eloquently ) in the first part of this is: even a broken clock tells the correct time twice a day. Even though I'm certain this is NOT just dang black and white for you, I think if you tell what you KNOW is not true, you are lying. It happens. I know liars, and call them on it if it suits me. If calling them on it doesn't suit me, it is because it is none of my business but I do file it away in my "this person lies" category. __________________________________ Isn't Steve Correll the dude who played the horrible idiot manager in The Office?
You were really a promotor of yo-yo's? Are you really really good at the yo-yo then? Like all kinds of tricks with it? Yea I'm not all sure what you're trying to say in the one about lies. Not exactly. I agree with LynnBrown that if you tell someone something you know is not true, you are lying to them. How, thedope, would that be instead deceiving of the self instead? Okay, just re-read....still don't totally get?.. You're saying people don't get away with lying because--- what exactly again? That no one knows they are lying so...? Idk. Yes, even a broken clock is right twice a day. BTW... As I've been typing in the last half hour I've been getting my first HUGE, HUGE, HUGE kicks. (only felt small ones before now)... trying to remind myself this is my sweet, baby girl and I love it..because it tickles and kinda hurts. I'm like OUCH, hehehehehe, ..... ouch, hehehehe
From your description no lie has kept you from the truth. And to anyone who knows the truth including the one we suspect is a liar obviously it is inescapable. So the braggart inflates his tales to the betterment of what he feels is his public standing. Upon inevitable discovery the embarrassment of the now blustering blusterer may bring him to understand through his own torment that it is one thing to put on the act of cool and another to be cool, yo! __________________________________ Don't know but he's the dude that specifically mentions the yo-yo champion in the movie forty year old virgin while he was agonizing over getting laid. I've seen him in skits with a yo-yo in his hand.
^ HUGE baby kicks make me BIG!!!! She might be a cheerleader, a hockey player, and then go into my favorite thing of all time - ballet! :2thumbsup: ok...sorry...y'all get back to whatever the OP is about.
Yes. i am even more singularly proficient with a toy called a spin top. All hints of your dynamic creation. Have mercy!
Ha... It does make me smile but I'm telling you... it's hitting a really weird spot that keeps making me laugh but it kinda hurts. Cason used to keep me up for hours and hours. As soon as I'd go to lay down to go to sleep it would start.
I like devil sticks. I used to rule those things as a kid. And (check this thread later tonite or tonite...)

I've got to give you credit for kindness, thedope...you said Steve Correll is sexy. (or were you being sarcastic and it just went over my head...which isn't unheard of. lol) MANY people find him to be a great actor. (I'm just going to keep my mouth shut about what I think re him.) He has had a heck of a career. I'm just a happy to be working at McD's crew member/lobby lady. lol _________________________ I loved coming home from school and playing with my yo-yo. I couldn't really get the tricks going, except for every now and then I had a fluke and it worked...kind of like that broken clock working twice a day. lol Yo-yos were excellent!
I'm saying contrary to steves representation the yo-yo champion is popular with the ladies. _________________________ The toy is great for hand eye coordination and I did my job well as far as getting it out there. There was another factor at play in my experience and that is the fact that kids of a certain age are ecstatic to be near celebrity and want to be in with the crowd or just want to be impressed with themselves and I was mauled by crowds a few times. I see a lot of kids of a certain age posing as adults these days gauging from the popularity of stars. I can say this from a star's perspective because I was 15 when I started and I had a talent but really had no social skills to account for my popularity. You see this a lot when people talk about actors, they are good actors people say but jerks in person. I didn't learn how to even communicate without frustration until these last few years.
My gf is surprisingly out on her own tonight. I hinted what I'd like to eat. She rang and said she'd be home and we could decide. -.- Why won't she just get me what I hinted. ='[
Hmmm is the second part of this post supposed to be an example of the first? And if thedope answers that question is it a continuation of the first part?
Two questions two answers. Second answer response to this question, But this randomness can be randomly continued, lying is a kind of marketing, creating the impressionistic. Unless you are an impressionist though you are unlikely to be impressed. That is if truth is more important than that shiny toyota.
i must seem like i'm always looking for excuses to disagree on something. well the do make something to post about. a promoter's specialty is promoting. what they promote is not the concern of their profession, they just get paid to promote whatever they're hired to.
I like when you question what I say! I like it when you post whatever you post because that gives me insight into how we might communicate regarding the things I know are important to both of us. Profession relates to the term specialist. A promoter promotes as a matter of being, not profession. To be a specialist makes it a profession. I get paid to promote something specific. Sometimes I sound convincing of my own accord.
