    Done. And so? What then?

    No, it is not propaganda.

I don't want to sound like I am superior to you, but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about right now. Why don't you actually read some marxist works?

What do you mean by "one of the stepts to convert to communism"?

Yes, there will be a state apparatus during the transition from capitalism to communism, but there will be no state in a communist society. Period.

The Soviet Union was not communist. They never claimed to be communist. The USSR only claimed to be socialist. The USSR stands for Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and at least in Marxist theory, the USSR was (at least under Lenin), progressing towards the path of communism, but the Soviet Union wasn't communist.

Take a google search on "the dictatorship of the proletariat", and do another search; "transition socialism communism" and you will probably find some useful information.

Marxism is constantly evolving and changing, and isn't based on the words of one man. There are plenty of new publications on Marxist theory.

I can back up what Gilligan said, because I have researched this subject in detail.

Yes. Not only did Marx believe that all children should be raised and educated (indoctrinated) by the state, he believed in the complete abolition of the familiy unit.

That isn't greed. That's reaping the fruits of your labour.

There were once two farmers. Each had the same amount of acres of land, right next to each other. The first farmer spent at least half the day tilling the ground, planting seed, and making sure everything was watered and healthy. The second farmer was not so diligent with his land. He did not till, he did not seed, he did not water. He sat on his porch and enjoyed the fresh air. When harvesting time came, the first farmer looked and saw that he had an enormous amount of quality product, but the second farmer looked at his acreage and saw that he had nothing. The first farmer gathered his product, and enjoyed it with his family.

Would you call the first farmer greedy for expecting to obtain more produce than the second? Is it the first farmer's obligation to share his crop with the second farmer? Why?

A real example of capitalism, is a owner of a farm being lazy, gets someone else to do the work for him, while he reaps the bulk of the wealth generated by the farm. This is why leftist call the working class under capitalism peasants, peasants were required to work for their lord and in return were allowed to farm their own piece of land, the modern worker is required to work in order to keep a small percentage of the wealth they generate.

    What chapter?

Of course, everyone must be educated. What would happen to society if no one could read or write? What is wrong with education?

No, it is not propaganda. It's a fact, just like 1 + 1 = 2. If a stateless society appeals to you, then good for you. If not, fine. It's still a fact, regardless if you like it, or not.

    - Lenin

Could we hear a more concrete argument, instead of this phrase over and over?

There have been no attempts to go over from socialism or communism, thus, no "communist experiments". The farthest the socialist states (such as Soviet Union, Cuba and China) has progressed towards the road to communism, has been to implement traits of communism in socialism. Still, the socialist states have not yet managed to advance to communism, just yet. I could give you a few examples of those traits I mentioned, if you like.

Stop with your selective omissions! He clearly said educated BY THE STATE! He didn't say anything against education, rather EDUCATION BY THE STATE. Do you understand? I didn't think so.

Did you even read the Communist Manifesto, or did you just hold it up in front of your face and pretend to read it, like all the other high school "marxists"?

Also, WHO FUNDED LENIN? WHO FUNDED THE BOLSHEVIK REVOLUTION?

The answer is WALL STREET! The answer is the CENTRAL BANKS!

Again, you don't have a clue. Communism was created by the banks as a false alternative to capitalism. Communism = the centralization of power. There is nothing tyrants love more than centralized power! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand this.

Stop buying into fascism. And no, fascism isn't the opposite of communism, as you have been wrongly led to believe. Communism is fascism, and vice-versa!

Actually, they are doing better under Chavez.

The reason isn't because socialism is good. It's because socialism is better than anything they've had, which is corporate/capitalist exploitation by the western world.

Chavez has basically isolated his country from the western world, which I can understand. This is also why Chavez has been a target of assassination by Bush and the neocons.

I am not exactly a fan of Chavez, but I can understand why he's looked upon as a hero by his people.

Communism is crap because no one has any political freedom and very few civil liberties. It's extremely opressive.
The Khmer Rogue were the worst of all. Pol Pot probably being number 1 in my list of 'sickest communists'!

Then again, unregulated capitalism (neo-liberalism) is also highly dangerous and unworkable. If we didn't regulate business at all the world would be in total chaos...

I personally favour non-violent progressive change. I'm a left-liberal. I acknowledge the fact that capitalism and private enterprise is part of human nature and is inevitable, though I also believe that the richest people in a country should be taxed and that money used to help the poorest in society and help all of society and not just a rich minority. I believe we should accept capitalism, but use a countries economy to pump money into projects such as environment, universal education, social welfare, and free healthcare.
I also believe in liberal issues and civil rights. I would love to see an end to the disastorous drug war and a switch to a highly regulated drug market.

I've only read the most recent post so excuse me if I repeat stuff someone else said.

Money is inherently corrupt. We as a race are rapidly outgrowing it. It won't be long now until there is freedom, not freedom to deny someone eyesight for the price of a burger (d'ya ever think what the cost of a Big Mac could do for an individual in Africa. In Kenya, for example, they spend ~$6 per person per year on healthcare). The freedom to help those around you, those you can help. Freedom from money. Skills will be the new system of credit. Non transferable without discipline, but then multipliable with discipline, if you see what I mean.
