As someone who is for traditional marriage I'd like to say that just because you speak out against a particular activity (like homosexuality) doesn't mean they are against, dislike, or otherwise bigoted against the group that partake in that activity.
I'm not going to argue the semantics of what makes someone a bigot, but if you take the time to speak out against people who have nothing to do with you and who engage in activities that don't harm you or anyone else, you're definitely something.
How often do you see people speak out against other people who have feelings or ways of life that they are not against, don't dislike, or are tolerant of?
What are you talking about? I disagree with the pope and the catholic doctrine on many things but that doesn't mean that I'm bigoted towards him or won't take him out to lunch.
I just now added a word. I don't form my ideas well sometimes, so if my edit didn't make the meaning clear, just ignore.
First place its not the people, but their activity I'm against. Second I speak on many topics such as evolution. And third their actions DO affect me in that the spread of STDs are more prevalent in the LGBT movement and the forcing of everyone else to accept their lifestyle.
Not often. But I'm trying to distinguish between speaking out against a certain activity done by a certain group and speaking out against the group themselves. There's a difference between "homosexuality is wrong" and "GOD HATES (you know what)!!!"
I don't believe that. No, they are just asserting themselves to gain rights entitled to them as human beings.
But do they change for the better? And something's aren't traditions. Something's is just facts and science.
If someone is not causing harm, why be concerned with what they are doing? Why speak out about it at all?
If you're denying people equal rights because you don't agree with their lifestyle, then yes, you are a bigot. That's would be like me saying "I don't hate blacks, but I don't want the races to mix."
The research is readily available. http://health.usnews.com/health-news/news/articles/2012/07/20/biology-leaves-gay-men-highly-vulnerable-to-hiv-study http://www.cdc.gov/std/life-stages-populations/STDFact-MSM.htm Then why are some bakeries forced to partake in an activity they disagree with?
That's the same line of argument for child pornograghy. As long the child was willing what's the harm? Why speak out against it?
