A machine ? Why ?

 

Well, you see, it's because of the way in which we interact. I type these words onto a screen using a machine and then hit enter and they supposedly post them onto a public bulletin board for other people to read. But, I'm never quite sure who, or more precisely what, is reading them. Because of that doubt, I now systematically doubt who or what is replying to them as well! I can't have the certainty that "Piaf" is a person, as I have that "Waking Life" is a person, hence the occasional proposition that you might be a machine.

 

That was a detailed explanation. There should be no doubts about his meaning.
