I know you're joking (and so was I, of course), but I think I read somewhere that the US has one of the worst problems with hunger in the rich, developed world. But I am an eastern european and too lazy to google, so yeah. Of course, in a global context we can say that it IS the home of the wellfed. Anyways, carry on lol.
Yeah, i was joking about the country's obesity problem, but am aware there are a lot of exceptions naturally. And in all seriousness/fairness, the obese numbers are rising here as well, happily not to the same extend as in the US but still: a serious issue
eating a diet poor in diversity, because of not being able to afford one that is more so, results often in obesity as well. once upon a time it was a fine fantasy to associate a fat belly with a rich life. for those who are both rich and fat, it is a sign of a careless one. but for the many overweight who lack wealth, it is too often the very result of their poverty, combined of course, with poor educational opportunities as well. the fortunes of nations, like those of individuals, come and go, just usually at a slower rate.
Yeah, it's becoming an issue here as well. Gone are the days when a big belly meant a cozy comfortable middle class life. So obesity has to do with poverty, education, food quality, amongst other things. But that's a whole different topic.
which is also a chicken or the egg thing. or in other words, self fulfilling, if you see what i mean.
I see what you mean and acknowledge your point about the people lacking wealth, or better said just an average income. But... far from every obese american is poor.
Americans will outlive all yall in an apocalyptic scenario. Long after you've died of starvation Americans will still be here, shedding pounds and finally getting down to their target weights
Did you see Mike Pence the other day quoting MLK jr in reference to something about the shutdown. I will try find it later, CNN i think it was Im all for the wall, Trump etc But Mike Pence quoting MLK jr, fuckin lolz
i just heard that the coast guard isn't being paid. these are the people who actually do the work of preventing things from being smuggled in through the ports. to build a wall to prevent, what? this is seriously a what is wrong with this picture.
true. wasn't talking about every anything though. just demographic distributions. which i haven't seen charts or numbers on this, just my own anecdotal experience.
The guys that do safety checks on commercial airliners too. How the fook is that "non essential" personnel?
