This is only one paragraph of a story that disgusted me

Yeah, but like I said, you're gonna find trashy people everywhere you go. Some people are gonna be pieces of shit and some people are gonna be good, hard working people. Some may happen to live in trailer parks and some may not, but the trash:non-trash ratio is pretty consistant in most places, I think.

 

you ever see COPS??? that show is practically always filmed in trailer parks

 

and in southern california neighborhoods that have gone to hell.

 

Or....urban areas or high class neighborhoods or condos or store parking lots. Crime is everywhere dude. It's too bad cops are everywhere too. lol

 

there was this trailer park back home that gone to hell. finally they cleaned it up. I would say about 75 percent of the trailers were damaged... broken windows, broken skirts, broken doors, whole sidings pulled off, one even had this big tree branch thrown through the window..... it was drug central too. meth, pot, coke..... etc I knew of people that just drove down there to that edge of town, to that trailer park to score some dope.

 

exactly, first of all we only got a small bit of the story to go on and secondly we don't know what was going on for the mother, is serious cases of Postnatal psychosis, mothers have been known to believe that their children are demons and evil or that they themsleves have given birth to evil.
in cases like this I refuse to believe in black and white and that the mother is evil for what she has done, mental illness is a truely terrible thing and getting access to services is often very difficult.

this happens to mothers in all walks of life, instead of writing them off, we should be trying to stop this from happening by understanding it better

i empathize with the woman, if it was that. and it sounds like it was. it may be that she was terribly suicidal and thought there was nowhere for her children to go, and that she'd rather "they went to heaven than to foster hell." (actual words i heard once). the ugliness of her life, combined with possible psychosis (of which i only had post-partum depression) make for it a terrible, sad, nightmare.

 

Even if you feel sorry for the mother, the end result is still that she killed babies.

Its like that Virginia Tech shooter, insane or psychotic, he ended 30 something lives.

Hitler, insane or evil, doesn't matter

I think it goes back to the fact that some people can't handle babies, especially that many babies at such a young age, jeez, just don't have 4 babies in 5 years starting at age 17

 

KC how easy is it being a mother even if the mother has never had any mental illness after giving birth, as much as mothers love their children, most would put their hands up and say that sometimes its still very difficult, how much harder must it be for people like you that had depression and other people that have psychosis.
I can honestly say that when I read storys like this I don't feel any disgust, just a great sadness for all involued including the mother, what must of life have been like for her to end in killing herself and her offspring?

Anyways, I have lived in a trailor before- for maybe a year or two of my life.. there is trash everywhere... in cities, in trailorparks, in the suburbs..... I wouldn't take it personally, tns.


And I don't feel sorry for the mother- I guess I'm just that that emphathetic and some people I have real problems feeling sorry for. That's why there is help out there- if you're depressed, don't get help and do something like that, it's not my problem and don't expect me to emphasize. *shrugs*

 

well, and no doubt she got quite a lotta hell for "being a whore" and "being trash" and "being on welfare" or whatever. i'm betting that my mother would never live to see me living in a trailer with five children and crazy. not everyone has someone to lean on. not everyone has support. when i went a little crazy from depression and would go days without changing kai's clothes or interacting with her at all, i felt evil. i went days without bathing, or caring. i didn't leave the house for MONTHS. i was out of it. and that was with only ONE child while MARRIED to a good man. how much worse would it be for another trailer trash texas mama?

I understand mental problems... but I draw the line with not getting help for mental problems and murdering other people.

What the hell Sam? I spent two years hardly able to get outta bed for depression issues and I aient sayin all my personal shit here but the second I would have killed other people, that's the second I would expect people to be like "fuck that and fuck you"... I mean, seriously.

 

Texas Mother Hangs Herself, 3 Children

HUDSON OAKS, Texas - A young mother who may have been depressed apparently hanged three of her small daughters and herself in a closet using pieces of clothing and sashes, authorities said Tuesday. A fourth child, an 8-month-old daughter, was also found dangling in the closet but was rescued from the family's mobile home.

"It's horrendous. That's all I can say," Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said.

The woman was identified as Gilberta Estrada, 25. The infant, Evelyn Frayre, was in good condition at a hospital, Fowler said. Authorities did not immediately identify the other children, ages 5, 3 and 2.

After Estrada failed to show up for work, her sister, who lived nearby, forced her way into the locked residence in the Oak Hills mobile home park, about 25 miles west of Fort Worth in this rural community of 1,600 people.

The sheriff said the sister rescued the infant when she realized the baby girl was still alive.

The sheriff said the hangings appeared to be murder-suicide because the trailer's doors were locked from the inside and a relative said the woman had been depressed.

The young mother and her girls were last seen alive Monday evening, he said.

The sheriff said Estrada had won a temporary restraining order in August against Gregorio Frayre Rodriguez, who was believed to be the father of the infant and some of the other children, after an attack on Estrada.

The sheriff said Estrada and Rodriguez had stopped living together in February. Tuesday was the first emergency police call to Estrada's trailer, and authorities said there was no evidence that Rodriguez abused the girls.

A telephone listing for Rodriguez could not immediately be located.

"I just got a big kick out of watching the kids play over there on her porch, and today it's sad, very sad," neighbor Joyce Harris said as other trailer park residents milled about on their porches, some crying and talking softly about the deaths.

Estrada's trailer was dilapidated, with paint peeling off the brown and white mobile home. Cactus plants and a rose bush decorated the front. Toys and a bicycle littered the back yard.

Texas has seen a number of child killings by mothers in recent years.

Less than five years earlier, another Hudson Oaks family was torn apart when Dee Etta Perez, 39, shot her three children, ages 4, 9 and 10, before killing herself.

Andrea Yates drowned her five children in the family's Houston bathtub in 2001. In 2003, Deanna Laney beat her two young sons to death with stones in East Texas, and Lisa Ann Diaz drowned her daughters in a Plano bathtub. Dena Schlosser fatally severed her 10-month-old daughter's arms with a kitchen knife in 2004.

All four of those women were found innocent by reason of insanity. Yates initially was convicted of capital murder, but that verdict was overturned on appeal.

 

Call me harsh if you want but I've been depressed throughout my life and I've never hurt a fly.. nor would I hurt a fly. When I get depressed, I seek help. It's understandable to have different mental problems but I will never support people who murder other people by telling people who say it's wrong that they are "harsh" by saying it's wrong and disgusting.

Whatever.

 

And notice I never said anything about the fact that she lived in a trailor. I could care less about that. She killed babies instead of getting help- that's all that I care about.

if you choose to start a thread on here with the word 'disgust' in the title and other people don't think that its harsh, its just being honest saying that (do you really want people to just not reply to this thread and if they disagree with you?)

if this thread continues I am awaiting the backlash that will come to me for not seeing the mother as disgusting, if I don't want people to make judgements about me, I will simply not put my point of view on here

and the more people back away from this issue by saying 'fuck you' the less understanding there will be and the more likely it is to keep happening
