Ive drank milk straight from the cow. Its called RAW milk no pasturization no nothing. Theres nothing unsafe about it or unclean. There are germs that cows have that we as humans dont have but no one has ever got sick from it that I know of. Most of us at the communes I have lived at growing up and the farms all drank raw milk. But think about this an egg comes out of a chickens butt now who was the first person to say hmmm I think that looks good enough to eat LOL
Rubicon remember God gave the loaves and fishes dinner fish are live animals and he killed them to eat so if its ok with God it must be OK
Dan I am glad you are hear to set things straight on milk. Milk contains alot of good things like The fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K are found as well as many other protiens. Cheese, butter, ice cream, yougart, and many other products come from Milk. Pasteurization kills many harmful microorganisms by heating the milk for a short time and then cooling it for storage and transportation. Milk is often homogenized, a treatment which prevents a cream layer from separating out of the milk.Homogenized milk tastes blander but feels creamier in the mouth than unhomogenized; it is whiter and more resistant to developing off flavors Soy milk is made from soybeans. I dont know how many of you live near large scale farms but I live near several tens of thousands of acres that is nothing but farm land. They spray pesticides on the soybeans I see. They also artifically put chemicals and vitamins into the soymilk because it natrually doesnt contain them. Its up to you but those are the facts.
Well if you like the God thing then one should really look at what the couple did in the garden. They ate fruits and berries. They didn't kill bunnies and fishes
Thats true originaly adam and eve were vegan but as you read thru the bible they ate lamb, fish, goat, and meat(some versus just say meat doesnt say where it came from) The animals and plants are here for us to take care of and to use to survive. That doesnt mean we should exploit animals by any means. There has to be a critical balance in all of this. And hey to you flowerman LOL long time no see.
God liked Able's offering of a lamb better than Cain's offering of fruits. But God also liked Jephthah's sacrifice of his daugher (Judges 12), so I'm not sure that I want to follow God's preferances.
I love milk. I lactated rather recently myself. Goats and cows, you could live off thier blood and milk for a long time. It's really not about 'is it good for you or not', it clearly is. It will sustain you, and when you're hungry, anything looks good. I mean, ppl have been drinking and using dairy products for many a year! Cheeses and yoghurts and butter, cream, etc...it's just like the chickens. Processed chix is not so good for you...you know, all the hormones and stuff...just like Wal-Mart brand milk is probably not so good...I'm willing to bet they don't really care how those poor animals are treated. But home-raised goat or cow milk...mmm-mmm-mmm! We all are mammals, milk is a strictly mammalian food. Eggs are good too...somehow, tho, they seem a little more sadistic in nature to consume than milk...and I love both! Eggs have been eaten probably since the first or second one was laid (I'm thinkin' dinosaurs or primitive fish spawn here). And it's true about the chemicals on the soybeans and rice fields getting into the soy and rice milk...which, incidentally, I like both of them too! Yum, vanilla Rice Dream and granola....I've heard goat's milk is much better for one than cow's milk...more closley matched to human milk, easier digested. I don't believe it's gross to consume it after adulthood. Does a three-year old really need to still be nursed? I stoppped at a year, because, well, my daughter is a hoss and she was eatin me up. Just not satisfying enough. I love all kinds of milk and dairy, including vegan milk substitues, and will continue to drink it probably till I die. The only draw backs really, are the passing on of hormones from industrial animals, but that's true of chix as well as cows/goats. And any other meat animal. Fish are nearing toxic levels of mercury, yet we consume 'em like they're goin outta style...(really, from what I hear, many 'food fishes' are being so over-fished that they are nearing threatened or endangered status...)and those hormones in out meats and milks are causing our daughters to develop breasts and menses in second grade. My god, I didn't get my period till I was 11! But my friend's daughter is eight, and has boobs, and her body is CLEARLY ripening. Before long I do not doubt she will mense. Her mother got hers at like, nine I think. It's like all things these days, you must consider the source. I like raw honey too. I'll have to add beehives on my list of things to acquire, as soon as I get those goats...
Eggs are pretty disgusting actually, whenever I eat them i can't help but think that it would have been a little chick.. plus eggs are supposed to be fertilized by sperm so its kind of like your eating the chickens ovaries or whatever.. u know what i mean.
