    Hello,

    Shell? Package it ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

PS: Years ago, when sms could be sent for free, I did it with a script and procmail. You could send an email to a given address, from there the email got sent as a sms.

its bash, not done yet, i want to add more interactive functionality like taking the SMS gateways of the different carriers from a configuration file (which would then be listed in a menu where the user selects from the list) since carriers may and do change the SMS gateway. i have to work that into what i have already, which works. it requires you to specify the gateway each time u run. what i have is simple and works, and all that other stuff isn't really necessary, except doing it allows me to learn more

yeah i named my layers stuff like paintInside, outSide_Paint, morePaintInside, evenMorePaintInside, idk, and "use later" .. which i never did end up using ;)

    Hello,

    that's a great project.

I have some spare time at the moment ;) that I plan to invest in open source. First I want to brush up some of my own existing projects. Then I have some vague ideas for new projects or maybe I help out in some other projects. It's all about learning and having fun ;).

    Regards

    Hello,

after finishing uni I was glad for a short moment that it was over. But it wasn't and that is good. Now a decade or so later it's still not over and I enjoy learning something new, even useless stuff, every week.

    Regards
    Gyro

i wish i had taken a different path in life, and gone to school for this stuff like my cousin did. He gets paid to hack (software developer) From a very early age i was always interested in computers and i learned a bit but then i got distracted by drugs and the wrong types of people i guess. I still do drugs of course, but not nearly as frequently, and for different reasons, and i don't make drugs my life.

I prefer digital graffiti over real life graffiti.

    Hello,

my CV isn't as straight as HR people might wish, I always did what I liked at that moment. But for me it worked out on the long tail. Degrees, diplomas and other paper stuff helps a lot, no question. But I never got asked for them. Experience and finished projects seemed to be more important most of the time. But I select the companies I want to work for carefully.

That sounds like a good plan. I support that ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

digital is real is it not? just doesn't require buying paint, plus you get to edit stuff you don't like. with real paint, u gotta get it right the first time

    Hello,

in the town next to mine there are a few tunnels where graffiti is officially allowed. Sometimes some morons come and spray their crap all over the walls, but often people spend hours there to do things that I would classify as art. I like it.

    Regards
    Gyro

when i lived in Baltimore there was an official place called "graffiti alley". The block the alley was on was 19 1/2 street and it was officially allowed there, i didn't do too much tagging there tho cuz for one it wasn't real close to where i lived (but was often in the area for work), plus mainly because the graffiti there tended to be really very good and I didn't wanna screw up what the artists had done there. the walls were completely covered, as well as the pavement, dumpster, telephone pole, etc.
the graffiti did tend to change all the time, i wonder how thick the paint is there?

computers are cool tho, they do exactly what you tell them to. they do tend to take things, well, literally tho ;)

I think you know what I mean.

Where it is 'officially' allowed is ok, because you kinda know that space is open to people wishing to express themselves (etc)
The majority of graffiti is just shit - all over any space anywhere in a particular area.
It is a mess, and looks vulgar.
I have seen the graffiti on the side of subway trains, and that just looks awful.
There is no defence for that kind of trash.

Why not use Adobe Illustrator or even Photoshop? That stuff hurt my eyes.
You could see your design more clearly in a better program.

Gimp is free, those two programs would cost about $1000, if you can even find them for sale.
Looks like Adobe is making the same asinine move that others are making to "cloud servers" and software as a service business model.

Oh well, at least I have my CS3 and CS4. :2thumbsup:
