Got to say, being someone just outside that generation, from what I saw growing up, I think history has been a little bit rewriten by remaniscance When I was little, my parents and all there friends were more into Abba, Queen, Led Zep, Hendrix, Creedance, The Doors,Bowie and the like My Dad was nuts for Deep Purple and my Mum thought Jim Morrison was way cooler than the Beatles, I got the impression they all thought, whilst popular and catchy, that the Beatles were a little bit dorky And I'm a little perplexed post Beatles what Lennon did, Imagine is a great song, but only a few other hits and some lovein thing
