I recently spent a little bit of money on two packets of headshop kratom. I know, I know, I should buy it online but I really wanted to give this stuff a try. Please forgive any typos or grammatical errors as I have ingested 4gs of Maeng Da about 40 minutes ago, and its starting to hit me pretty hard. I have no opiate tolerance, so I assume that's why. I have anxiety and insomnia all though the insomnia has been dwindling away with a healthy amount of cannabis. The reason i am thinking of "getting into kratom" is because in the state i moved to its been rather hard to get my hands on any decent cannabis in my part of town. Sure I can middleman here and there, but I cannot find a direct dealer for the friggin' life of me and I feel like my self medicating with cannabis is disrupted when i run out for a week or two at a time. I have no interest in going to a doctor to get a prescription (that I could easily acquire) for benzos due to financial reasons right now. I am wondering what strains of kratom you all think would work best for Anxiety and Insomnia, as I have no clue were to start. If 4 grams of Maeng Da I bought at a headshop calms me down this much (I doubt its contaminated, if it had got me really stoned i would without a doubt be suspicious) I am sure that other, fresh strains of kratom have quite a lot of benefit to offer me. I intend to use it only when I am out of cannabis to keep tolerance down and lower chances of addiction. So- What strains of kratom do you all think work best for insomnia and anxiety?
Kratom is very legit, and very addictive. I will tell you now that I have incredible control over my substance use compared to most human beings and this shit is extremely difficult to control. It does work very well for anxiety, which is what I use it for. It works well when you're on it. When you've been using it for days and days, for anxiety, suddenly you find yourself in a place where you need it, more than anything, just to not feel pretty shitty. That is your basic addiction 101 my friend. So this is not a real solution to anxiety. It is at best, on par with benzodiazepines; it will work, short term, but long term you will have consequences to deal with and you will be absolutely dependent on it to function, like never before. And good luck trying to stop a regular habit of either . . . As for insomnia, that's fishy too. Kratom can be pretty stimulating. I have tried a few different strains and indeed there is a huge difference between the stimulating ones (hate them, they feel anxiogenic almost) and the relaxing ones. I have found a strain I really love, Sumatra Red Vein, it is just very relaxing overall. I must also say that tolerance builds VERY fast with this. When I first started doing it I actually overdosed on 6g; I was semi-conscious, extremely nauseous, had to emergency smoke cannabis to deal with that, and basically nodded the fuck out to dream land completely against my will and at the cost of logistic difficulties, for several hours. After only a month of fairly light use, 6g I can drive a car and have an interview with my boss. At the end of the day, this is an opioid agonist, so you are entering the realm of opium, morphine, and heroin. Hopefully you are versed enough in history and pharmacology to understand the full import of this. Tread carefully and good luck!
yeah listen to Mr. writer take it from me to, i been down this road. it,ll start with a little kratom, then more, then it,s not enough anymore. so then vic,s , then perc,s, then oxy,s then that,s to expenseve so ya go to the cheap herion. then it,s all over.
Kratom is all over the map for me, but I love to indulge every once in a while. It will have drastically different effects one day I use it than an other. One day it will feel like a comfortable, non-jittery dose of energy, and an other day I feel sedated like opiates almost. Mr. Writer is right though, it can get on top of you fast and even leave you feeling a little ill when you run out, it's actually a pretty potent plant that should be used in moderation and respected (if you respect your own body that is). The active alkaloid in Kratom is described to be many times more potent than morphine in its own right, so that's just giving you an idea. I'd recommend Maeng Da Leaf which is rich with potency. I would go for a good Red Vein strain if I couldn't access Maeng Da. Make sure to use a reputable supplier as there is a lot of fake/weak Kratom circulating around. And no, we cant discuss sources, sorry.
Thank you for the warning, but there is more to my anxiety and insomnia than I really cared to mention, but I may as well bring it up. When I was younger I had a "minor" problem with oxycodone (That a family member would give to me, for free). After four years snorting oxycodone on and off, and even after not touching it for a year and a half now, I still would get massive cravings for opiates. But, I didn't want to end up like that family member, so I tried my hardest to abstain. I knew though, that if I found a source for more opiates I would be gone. I'd end up exactly like that family member and wouldn't care for anything other than opiates. Kratom actually has killed those cravings all together, even when I only use Kratom 2-3 times a week. To me, it is as much a miracle plant as cannabis now. EDIT: The strains I have been using are "Red Vein Bali Kratom" and "Maeng Da". Red Vein Bali was my standard until I tried my suppliers "Maeng Da". A little more pricey, but totally worth it.
