I don't think I've ever been called honky in person, I don't know how I'd react.

 

Because it failed to launch beyond the 70s. It was hard to take seriously as an insult because it sounded so funny. This was capitalized by the character of George Jefferson of The Jefferson's sitcom. He said Honkey at least once per episode. He also described biracial offspring as Zebras. Thankfully the word N****r was only uttered once in the entire series, by the Honkey neighbor with the black wife.
