What gives me hope for our future is the coffee I make before commuting to the drudgery I call work. Since I guzzle while I drive, I drink iced coffee. Since I'm trying to control my girthiness, I add about half of an Atkins shake then fill the rest of the flip top vacuum interstitial coffee mug with off-the-shelf iced coffee (usually Starbuck's because I like pagan symbols of scantily clad women). But before the coffee, sometimes, I grab the battery-operated stainless steel spring whip and froth the Atkins shake a bit before dumping in the coffee. Except for the taste that tinge of nutrition adds, it's the perfect drink for dealing with the morning road-ragers. Today there's 4 wrecks that could have impacted my course. Instead, I took the longer path and risked a school zone and train crossing to get in earlier than the overlord!
What gives me hope for the future? The knowledge that I'm only about 20 years away from bein' able to tell everyone around me that I don't care and they can fuck off, with ol' man authority
the simple fact that the universe we live in doesn't begin and end with existing social structures, however much fanatics of both ideologies and beliefs insist on people telling each other that it does.
Yups, in the grand scheme of things we're a delightful meaningless blib in space and time on a dot in the universe. Curiously enough some people find this unsettling..
My daughter gives me hope for the future! She’s doing better at school academically, hanging out with the right kind of kids, has her head on straight, and very receptive to listening to what I tell her about life in general. I’m pretty lucky as a stepfather
The seemingly few who become the change they wish to see instead of whining and complaining about negativity while deep down remaining that way.
i find it curiously illogical that they do. and its entirely up to us, how delightful or otherwise we chose to be. people who realize this give my hope.
According to my most recent health analysis, it would appear I'm going to be around a little bit longer. that give me hope for the future. The world needs its little battlers.
