Living on a dead-end street during the winter months. It seems that the plow drivers don't feel like it needs to be plowed or salted. It took me 3 days of ice melt, shoveling and chopping the ice to be able to drive from our house. Even after calling a few times they still haven't done anything with it.
Years ago I plowed snow for the town where I used to live. ( as a back fill .) I had my CDL and worked in the town. We plowed curb to curb where we could ( IE cars parked blocking it ) . We did not do one pass down the center or the road and called it done. But it seems different locations have different ideas and standards as to what they considered being fully plowed. What pisses me off is being told that I can not park in front of my house for extended periods of time because it is a " city street." But they don't need to plow it because there is only one house on that section of the street so its no big deal. Yeah its a dead end street that goes into a wooded area. But don't park there! We need the street open. But further up the street homeowners park in front of their house and it's not a problem. I guess they don't need the street open there ............
When I'm expected to drop everything to help others, but the once in a blue moon I need something, everyone disappears.
Having people at work go on a break and never come back what a way to quit can't even say anything to someone ugh annoying to me how do these people survive in the real world
I myself have done that a couple of times, but only at places of work that really pissed me off. Fuck 'em I said. But those were rare exceptions, the rest of the time I had the decency to give them notice or at least tell them I quit so they can replace me and not leave my co-workers picking up my slack. But some people just don't give a fuck who they inconvenience.
I have to punch in and out when going on a 15 minute break at ShopRite. It's paid, but still an annoyance.
I'm all for inclusiveness and diversity, but for Pete's sake, don't you think being conversant in the king's English should be a bona fide occupational qualification for a call center?
