If you don't want to be thought of as too weak to take care of yourself, you should stop demanding to be treated that way. But where is he gonna find the time, when he's doing all of your heavy lifting for you?
He only offers to help, david. Not actually do all the heavy lifting himself Are you a real man or not!?
I'm having trouble figuring out if you're actually being this naive, or if you're making a tounge-in-cheek joke. We all know what the gender role being reinforced here is. We all know that men are expected to do all of the heavy lifting. If you seriously intend to deny that fact, you're in for an embarressment. Even the use of the term "real men" in this way is offensive to me. My identity should not be dependent on society's approval. Real men are people who self-identify as men. Most of us have testicles.
I regard this whole thread tongue in cheek. Real men are so emancipated they happily share half the bill on a dinner date.
Real men get black belts in karate and then walk away from a fight if they possibly can. Real men are comfortable around empowered and confident women. Real men raise self-assured daughters. Real men cook and clean. Real men are people, not apes who shave.
You're so serious. real men get in on the joke As a woman I wouldn't watch someone move without offering to help. Its a pretty shitty thing for either gender to do.
