Okay first of all dogs. I just don't get why people need dogs. I get the child's need for a dog, I've had at least five of them when I was growing up...but I out grew them. I see no reason for an adult to own a dog unless the dog serves a purpose such as for hunting or service. That being said, almost everyone I know has a dog, except me and my wife. (Or my wife and I.) They bark, have to be taken on walks, leave hair all over the place, smell up the house and car, and need constant attention. "We can't stay long or go anywhere 'cause we have to let out the dog." Prisoners to an animal. What really pisses me off is people who lock their poor dog up in a little cage inside the house for hours on end, like a prisoner of war or something. And don't get me talking about the idiots who drive around with a dog in their lap hanging out the driver's side window. I'd take away their driver's license. I believe dog owners, those who don't need a dog for some utilitarian reason, have a mental problem. They lack to ability to exist without some creature worshiping them all day long. It's a freaking dog, nothing more. Next: SUVs
I love dogs. They're just the best. Cats too. I would own a dog if I could. We would not worship each other, but we would sleep together and I would hug him and kiss him.
Dogs should be seen as children as all animals that a person has declared ownership over should be. It's called respect for life & acceptance of responsibility. Every damn thing you must do for a kid you gotta do for a pet
I'd own a dog if I had the time to take care of it. However I work for a living and I'm not about to (a) let it run loose or (b) tie it out back to a tree. Instead I have house cats; they take care of themselves for the most part.
if the guy really hates dogs, i would think he would love SUVs. i'm guessing they're about the number one cause of canine death.
Agreed about SUVs. I sort of see where you are coming from with dogs, in that I agree with some of your stated downsides of having a dog. I don't see how enjoying the companionship of an animal equates to mental illness though. But on the other hand I do really like dogs.
I love SUVs. They’re so useful and you know you have the space to fit anything and everything in them. The higher ground clearance means you can go over a curb without bottoming-out. They have a towing capacity that no FWD sedan or wagon can manage. Most are 4WD, so can take you on great backroad adventures. You can play in the mud and snow with an SUV too.
Sounds Like Somebody Fell Out Of Bed And Landed On Their Head This Morning......Never Mind..... I'm Sure The Day Is Going To Get Better..... Cheers Glen.
"hi guys, I don't understand why people do things, so it's stupid and I had to let someone know" /thread. Meanwhile said person sits and reads fake politic news all day and thinks they're doing the world social justice by adding personal opinion. Lulz.
Having and loving a pet like a dog or cat is very good for the heart, especially among the elderly. Showing affection to animals is proven to lower stress, blood pressure and the like. If you don't like dogs that's cool, and ranting in a safe space is a help sometimes I'm sure.
Not liking dogs is not the mental illness. The having a conniption fit about what other people like is more telling.
As a disabled, feminist, autistic, genderqueer pescatarian who loves dogs, I am really offended by this post. This thread represents a microaggression, and I am requesting it be removed.
