    I'm guessing the reason why there are no tomatoes on big macs is because a tiny bit of ketchup is added to their "special sauce", which just reminds me of what we call Thousand Island or Russian dressing, basically ketchup and mayo. I usually add some hot sauce, and for shrimp cocktail, horseradish and ketchup & lemon juice.

    McD probably realized they can save lots of money not using tomatoes, esp. in the off-season and hard to guarantee same quality everywhere, which is what McD is known for. So a bit of ketchup adds enough flavor, lasts forever too. Shelf life important to all food bizes.

    For the record I don't eat beef burgers, only veggie and turkey. Hard to find good veggie burgers.

    If everyone ate veggie burgers instead of beef, we could save the planet doing THAT ALONE!

    I think McD or another co. make/made veggie burgers in some places.

    These look delicious!

    No way! Double double animal style is still greasy and nasty! I don't go there anymore! Lol.

    I never go to fast food places. Not even In N Out. The food just isn't that great in my honest opinion.

    Me too! I like to eat veggie burgers. We have the Spicy Black Bean Chipotle ones. I can't find Garden Burger ones in bulk though. They're not exactly cheap either. The black bean ones were $15 for a dozen I think. Dang. Oh well. It still beats McDonald's.
