So we have this issue called thin privilege but isn't the real problem thin guilt? I know lots of thin people who aren't privileged at all... I smell an agenda!
Anybody can lose excess body fat. Some people have more muscle or wider hips. I've been skinny, down to 150s. Been very fat also, up to 260s. Now I am lower 170s and it's taken years of mindfulness. It's probably no different than non-smokers privileged. Or any other self care status that is attractive. People assume a lot when they meet someone. I know there are medical reasons that make it difficult to lose weight, genetics also play a role. As well as how we are brought up and trained to feed ourselves. There are a shit ton of fast food places in America and healthy food is an expensive niche market. Even beans and rice can lead to obesity. It's just that I see a fat person buying whole fat milk and I think "well they really aren't dieting". I've invested in a calorie calculating scale and it works wonders.
everyone overcrowds your personal space on airplanes. airplane seats were designed for anorexic 6 year olds, so anyone bigger is going to hang over into the seat next to them.
Airplane rides are nothing. Try sitting on a greyhound for 5 days with no sleep and little food and not one dropping of deuce!
Alfred actually dropped 100 lbs when he relocated from London to Hollywood but put it back on - Interesting BTW It's my belief the zombie phenomenon is an allegory on obesity, corpulence, and the insatiable appetite of the American people to consume Hotwater
Yea, it is. He put a silly smiley near beginning of post so that was first clue. But yes, in my personal life had had some issues via text w my new guy bc of sarcasm not understood... small stuff but makes me sometimes hate the ambiguity of texts/web/anything typed. Cant see the face.
Not necessarily; There was a recent study done at a prestigious university and 70% of the participants who were classified as obese claimed they were simply a little overweight. Hotwater
Rationalizations like that make me angry. It would be harder for a larger person to die from not eating, but you are forgetting to take into account that when you don't eat your blood sugar drops drastically. It can put you in a coma or kill you. There are medical reasons people stay fat when they eat and exercise normally. One cause can be diabetes if you are eating and you insulin is not metabolizing and breaking down sugar it can cause you to gain weight. if you have to much of certain hormones you can gain weight and keep it. Then of coarse there is thyroid disorders that can cause you to gain weight, keep it and make you lethargic. All of these are pretty common medical conditions across the world. That's not even getting into psychiatric disorders and the chemicals they put in our food to keep us eating especially diet and diabetic foods.Btw I have tried you methods you suggested many times it doesn't work my metabolism not only bottomed out so did my blood sugar. I am chubby
This is only because people don't know how to properly communicate, using technically correct language. That's where this ambiguity comes from (unless the ambiguity is intentionally introduced, but this usually requires an even greater level of communication skill to do).
Yea, I joke that in person (tho its true) I joke/use sarcasm w/ a straight face..i joke but its true. It can be hard to grasp & im actually trying to tone it down a little, though its something I like to do. And yes, I agree w/ rest of your post. Sometimes though its just that dry humor doesnt hit.
They shouldn't eat normally. They need to go hungry sometimes while their friends are getting to enjoy a nice meal. The problem is in America almost nobody is willing to do that. We've been taught to never do things that are unpleasant. Everything about weight management is difficult for me. I eat about half as much as I want. No desserts, no candy, not ever. The other women in my office are fat. They bring lots of junk food to work, for everyone to share, and go out to lunch at places where all the options are unhealthy. It makes them angry and frustrated that I won't participate. I think some of them would rather be dead than live like I do. I don't give a damn what they think.
I don't eat that type of empty calories I am a chef and a vegetarian. If you do your research when you skip meals your metabolism drops making it harder to lose weight. It is actually reccomended to eat 6 to eight times a day. Small meals and snacks of coarse. Your body takes a while to burn food when you eat hardy full meals therefore if you eat small meals over the coarse of the day every 3 to 4 hrs you lose weight.
Within 6 hours of not eating your body is using the glycogen it created by digesting food that enters the bloodstream as glucose. This is the primary fuel of the body. Once the 6 hours is up, the body will turn to consuming excess fat and transforming it into glucose for distribution to cells and tissues via the bloodstream too. After 3 days Once you have gone 3 days without food you enter into what is known as the "starvation mode." This is a process that the body uses to survive lack of nutrition. Fat stores are gone and the brain needs glucose to function. It begins to use the stores in the liver through a process called ketosis. The ketone bodies replace glucose as fuel for the brain. The body metabolism lowers significantly so what stores of fuel are left is directed towards the brain. 3 Days to 3 Weeks After 3 days the liver has no more stores of fuel for the body and brain to convert and consume. This is when the process of autophagy begins to occur. This refers to the process of the body breaking down its proteins in order to create fuel for all its systems. That protein comes from the destruction of muscle tissue, which is one of the tissues highest in protein in the body. This is not a consistent process but peaks after 72 hours before the metabolism slows again to act to conserve protein. After 3 weeks After 3 weeks the body continues to look for protein sources to convert into fuel. Once the muscles are gone the only source left are tissues, with the highest concentration occurring in the organs. Before this usually happens, the lack of essential vitamins and minerals usually cause complications as your immune system becomes compromise. If you do not become ill, you will fall into a vegetative state followed by death. People in the final stages of starvation can usually be identified from their lack of muscle mass, lack of energy and bloated stomach. This is the problem with you theory how many ripple do you know that actually drinks enough water to survive this long without eating.
What about all the other times? I would guess a normal diet as it has a reason why chronical deprivation feels... well unhealthy after a certain time
