Voting doesn't change a thing for the BETTER of a society it just changes it the most POPULAR thing which is a horrible way to run your country. And I say again, what democracy?

Once again, not a Democracy, a Representative Republic. Majority does not rule. The loudest voice rules. Lets get loud.

Money rules, don't ever get confused about that. But American consumers are the biggest market for goods anywhere. So it's time to speak with the wallet. Time to stop buying corrupt Chinese goods, time to ask corporations what they have to offer us besides price. We used to assume our food commodities were safe, now during a time of terrorists threats they are the least safe commodities out there.

Time to demand that the oil companies that forced these wars on us, give us a break during a time when they are seeing record profits. We were told the prices were high because they needed more refineries, but now that there is talk about ethanol, they've scrapped their plans for new refineries. Corn prices are forcing our food commodity prices to skyrocket, at the same time that the oil companies are manipulating the supply so that they can control the market. A few people are being allowed to control the way we live based on their profits and homes in the Hamptons. The same folks that control the petroleum industry are controlling the development and access to ethanol.

These are the same people that sell you on deregulation then sit in Washington and tell California when Enron pulled it's crap that they would have to work it out by themselves. Next time someone says deregulation will lead to a lower cost for consumers and better service, think about California and the deregulation of utilities including telephone. What happened to the baby bells, everything is ATT here again. who benefitted, not the working people of California.

Workers give up rights and unions because we are told companies can't survive and pay their workers a living wage or abide by union contracts. Then the next step is they can't afford us anyway so they go offshore to third world countries. Then they tell us we can't fill the service jobs here in this country that are being developed because we can't speak Spanish, to compete with the illegals they have already hired. We need to be prepared to retrain and go back to school. To push a broom we need to learn a foreign language? Is that reasonable?

It's time to wake up as consumers. Don't buy the marketing ask questions, and demand answers.

I'm with you on that, Gardener. Well said. It's the same parasites finding a new host, ethanol, to control our lives. This has to end before the transition ends, because they are not responsible enough to save this planet from ecological catastrophe, and would be too slow in implementing the necessary guidelines to ensure our future.
