See, I told you, high school level stuff

it did encourage "the" financial services did it? What, there is only one of them, or it encouraged all financial services?

Betting on the horses is a financial service did it encourage that?

And what version of neo-liberalism are you even talking about?

Just because no one bothers arguing with you anymore, doesnt mean you've convinced anyone you have a clue what you are talking about.

I couldnt reply to that even if I wanted to, its ridiculously vague

"The neoliberal approach is to step back and let the ‘market’ work things out" - Dont go getting specific or anything

But by all means tell me another 5 times I am the one that needs to read more

Germany took over your car industry simply because you lot just made shit cars, shit engines

LOL oh my old friend, I’m sorry but saying this and then showing a middle school level of understanding just makes you look silly.

Really you think we are talking about horse racing….Do you know anything about this subject?

As I’ve said I’m not sure you even know what neoliberalism is can you explain the basic tenets?

    To what?

LOL you attack me for writing long posts getting down to specifics and then attack me for not doing so.

    Well if the shoe fits

    But why was that?

What was different about the German model and the neoliberal one?

Never once have I attacked you for long posts getting down to specifics.

Never once have I even see a post of yours with specifics

I am going to just go ahead and assume you are talking about Eisensulfid neoliberalism, since I guess its up to me to pick a type.

Very little to do with Germany making great cars and engines, England making shit ones

What the fuck is ‘Eisensulfid neoliberalism’ hell even google doesn’t seem to know what it is either so I’m intrigued?

So I’m still not sure you know what neoliberalism is.

LOL ok well I’ve written a lot on neoliberalism in this forum in fact a large chunk of the posts in the Libertarian sub-forum are from me on neoliberalism there for anyone to see but haven’t seen much by you so ok your time to shine go on man overwhelm us with your brilliant insights and knowledge.

So what are the basic tenets of neoliberalism?

This where the main tangent in this thread started, 5 pages ago.

Not an unreasonable statement by oxo, the effect of immigration on infrastrucuture may be over played by some. But certainly fair to suggest immigration, which leads to an increase in population may have something to do with strains on infrastructure said people are using

Balbus's response was to act like it couldnt even be a consideration.

Balbus then asserts that the strain on infrastructure is "due to a right wing supported austerity policy"

We have since learned by right wing he is referring to the Tories, still unclear what he means by supported, but I will assume he means policies are somehow supported by them in times they havent been in power. And a still yet unspecified level of austerity across an unspecified number of sectors

And then oxos immigrants/migrants arriving was changed to EU migrants

So its been 5 pages so far of fluffing around, to avoid having to answer how migrants to the UK arent going to have an impact on the infrastructure they use

But the suggestion doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, there seems to be no evidence that points to problems been caused by immigration especially EU migrants but a lot pointing to austerity.

What are you going on about? Some of the areas are specified in the thing you quote.

He was talking in the context of Brexit so yes EU migration.

So, you have 7 million people living in the UK, currently alive, that werent born in the UK, probably at least that number again that are first generation. And an net inward migration rate of 200,000+ people a year. All adds up to near 1/4 of your population

And you are saying it doesnt stand up to scrutiny, there is "no evidence" that problems with strains on your infrastructure might have something to do with 1/4 of the people using it.

Thankyou, thats all I actually needed, for you to say something along the lines of no evidence or zero impact.

I genuinely have not heard anything so ridiculous on this site, well since I last entered the 9/11 thread anyway

That was the first paragraph of his very first post in this thread. He wasnt talking in the context of Brexit. He quoted you referring to Brexit

"struggling infrastructure of such a small island with too many imigrants/migrants etc arriving"

In no way, shape or form could 'small island' be misinterpreted as referring to the EU or Europe

In no way, shape or form could immigrants/migrants arriving to said small island be misinterpreted to include all migration between EU countries

    More lame diversionary tactics

But the suggestion doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, there seems to be no evidence that points to problems been caused by immigration especially EU migrants but a lot pointing to austerity.

So you have a ‘belief’ but no evidence?

To repeat something you still haven’t addressed in any rational way

The average European migrant arriving in the UK in 2016 will contribute £78,000 more than they take out in public services and benefits over their time spent in the UK (assuming a balanced national budget), and the average non-European migrant will make a positive net contribution of £28,000 while living here. By comparison, the average UK citizen’s net lifetime contribution in this scenario is zero.[Oxford Economics]

The thing about conspiracy theories is that they are based on irrational belief not rational evidence.

They begin with the belief and then use supposition, speculation and innuendo to try and make things fit to that belief while ignore anything that runs counter to the belief.

What we are talking about is the allocation of resources and under neoliberal policies in real terms resources have been limited or pulled away from public service areas putting them under stress.

The thing is that many supporters of these neoliberal policies have blamed ‘migration’ because they don’t want people to realise that they are really to blame. You have just fallen for their con game.

Ok let’s go through the sequence -

Balbus - A lot of people in the UK voted not only to wreck the UK economy but also many seem to have done that for racist reasons, I mean Booze did and I’ve meet many others that have said they did it for similar racist reasons involving brown people.

The vote been the Brexit vote a vote to leave Europe

Oxo in reply to that - A lot of people were and still are aware of the struggling infrastructure of such a small island with too many imigrants/migrants etc arriving.

Arguing that people voted for Brexit because of the struggling infrastructure which they blamed on the EU and the migrants from the EU otherwise why vote to leave?

Balbus’ reply to oxo - The UK’s infrastructure is struggling both social (NHS, welfare etc) and physical (public roads buildings) due to a right wing supported austerity policy. What has it got to do with EU migrants?

And Oxo STILL hasn’t answered that question.

How the hell do you get that from what he said?

More likely the little voice inside your head was still ranting about Brexit and you just passed over what he said

I told you before, thats calculated based on the extra tax they pay on a work visa multiplied by average life expectancy

Total bullshit. A think tank paid by a government department to create some magic bullshit, happens all the time.

If you disagree, then you should easily be able to show us how they worked out those figures. But you would actually have to read the report this time

Now you are ranting about conspiracy theories. How do you think that makes you look to the casual reader. Assuming anyone is still reading this garbage

And for crying out loud, this day and age all anyone else needs to do is type "neoliberalism" into google, then they get a list of all different variants, and they dont even need to read it to know you just saying "neoliberalism" 100 times means nothing.

Its an ideology, not a set of rules, tending towards zero public ownership means the same thing if you are only at 5% public ownership or 95%

And you cant claim conservative neoliberalism in a country that never sold off its national health service, even under Thatcher
