They are coming for us next

    With the overturn of Roe v Wade in the US, the far right theocrats have made it clear that they wish to return society to the middle ages. Some of them have made it expressly clear that this is only the beginning. There are numerous targets on their radar, but it is clear that trans people are high of on the list of targets. We are next.

    It is easy to say that I am safe, living in another country. But we have far right theocrats here, too, who are just one election away from taking power. The same is true in many other countries. Don't think it couldn't happen where you live. It could.

    And it will happen unless they are stopped. Get out there and vote if you value your right to be your true self. Don't say that all parties are equally bad. They aren't They may all be bad, but some are much, much worse than others.

    Very similar to the Taliban. We need to stop calling them “populists, patriots, or conservatives” and call them for what they really are….fascists

    It's been an on going process / goal of the right / republicans for decades. Divide between church and state is gone, books are banned, history concerning slavery and other historical facts which trigger the right are gone or going, union membership is at the lowest level in decades because of the "right to work laws ", our tax dollars can now go to religious schools ,Roe V Wade is gone, Citizens United is now law ( unlimited , unknown money in elections), unlimited lying by SOME of the media goes unpunished, a president and helpers / cult members throughout the country can attempt an overthrow of our duly elected government with no punishment (SO FAR, BUT WE CAN HOPE), changing voting laws to help themselves, outright lies that are now believed by about 30 to 40 % of our citizens, very dumb people have now been elected to the legislature, any yahoo, disturbed , mentally deficient, short tempered person can carry a gun at any time without training, permit -( maybe New York only at this time?). The next elections are going to convey to citizens here and around the world just how far the ideals and the basic structure of the USA have been distorted to fit the fascistic desires of the right wing--republicans in 2022 and 2024. We have to vote as many republicans out of office as possible. And if trump and the rest of those that helped him try to turn this country into an authoritarian , one party rule country---do not suffer the consequences---they will 100% try it again.

    Incredibly, both Alito in Dobbs and Thomas in his concurring opinion explicitly stated their intent to repeal “all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell”, promising every bigot and homophobe in the country a friendly reception before the Court.
    In November, vote as if your life depends upon it. It actually does.
