Maybe your therapist got served with divorce papers that morning.
Or maybe he found out last night his wife/gf is cheating on him

    Therapists sometimes need a therapist

That's very unprofessional conduct and should be reported.

Why would you discuss political opinions with your therapist? If that's how you want to spend time for which you are paying, that's on you.

Telling you to grow up and be mature is what some patients need to hear. It's not nasty at all, if immature behavior is holding you back in life, if your actions are producing results that are contrary to your stated goals and values. The more immature you behave, and the more you lack self-awareness about your words and actions, the more you need to hear it.

If you think that therapists should meet licensing requirements, schedule appointments, deal with insurance and billings, experience patients not showing up, and be an audience for people who want to visit their offices to express political opinions without getting paid for the time, then that is extremely immature of you.. Your therapist wouldn't speak with any of his patients without getting paid. Professionals expect to get paid for their work. It's the agreement you made with him. Mature adults understand and keep the agreements they've negotiated and entered into.

Your asking for a free session would be nasty. His reminding you of your agreement isn't nasty at all. Now, if you had something interesting to say, you might find an eager and willing audience without paying them. Expressing your political opinion during therapy sessions is, at the very least, inappropriate. A reasonable person may find your lack of focus on the task at hand during a session to indicate a lack of emotional maturity.

If one goes to a primary care medial doctor to ask for a referral to a political campaign strategist or policy analyst, that'll get him referred to a behavioral therapist or tested for cognitive function for sure.

People presenting with early indicia of Alzheimer's are often asked whether they can identify the current head of their nation state. "Do you know who Boris Johnson is?" isn't a request for a monologue on the intersection of radical ecology and militant feminism.

If you want to search online for information about John Locke, communitarianism, or agrarian socialism, webMD.com would not be the best place to look. Such topics get no depth of coverage in most medical schools. Well, no coverage at all....

I was just speaking in general and a therapist should just listen and not give unwanted criticism of speaking on something helps the patient then what is the problem.and you said people need to hear that yes some people not all and if I pay to use services I deserve not to be disrepsected and rushed out of services if that is what I paid for
