themed trips.

Gday hip

First time posting.. been lurking for a while without making an account but after much searching have never found anything like what a few of my mates do.

So my mate was watching tv and came up with an idea.

What if we make a storyline for his/her trip?

Well the idea seems simple enough and we got to planning.

Now my mate and his trip partner are both into scifi and decided this would be the theme but the problem is most scifi movies are horror or action.. science documentaries (my mate is studying astrophysics and has a huge library of these); are usually either too intense or have lots that isnt space.

So he went about gathering large quantities of space themed wallpapers and soundtracks from various movies and tv shows.

We created a playlist which I will post in full when I get home tonight. But two of the gems need special mention.

Both of these still send my mates mind back to the experience.

My mate and his buddy then bought and made decorations for his house these included a 2 metre tall inflatable space man and some rave lighting.

He put custom visualizers on his xbox that have a general space theme (and can be controlled using the controller)

He put the wallpapers on scroll and stitched together a selection of space flight scenes from a variety of documentaries including carl sagans cosmos and morgan freemans through the wormhole.

The pair donned their space uniforms and proceeded to fly through space.

Reports say it was an excellent time.

3 tabs with mescullin each and an oz of weed between them.


I guess I just needed to share.

The duo are having a repeat of what has been dubbed "the cosmic adventure" with a third person soon and we are looking for sugestions for cool things.

This new adventure will also include a 4 hour video my mate has made in sony vegas featuring clips from space simulator, cosmos, sins of a solar empire and more.

Anyone ever done anything like this? Its lots and lots of fun.

I like the idea although I don't know if it would work for me on LSD in particular. I tend to see through any falsity, shallow appearances and deceptions. I'd be looking at all these toys and props and whizzing things and lights and thinking "what the fuck did I do all this for? the universe is in my closed eyelids". On a 2c-x or mxe/ket or something like that it would be nice, but not LSD or a tryptamine. I'd be embarrassed that I thought this would be cool and clever.

On LSD I would simply lie down and look at the stars, you are already literally in space, travelling at high speeds.

 

Maybe we trip really differently.. I know its different for everyone.

See I have found really that the most integral part is the music. If your trying to even set a light theme then pick appropriate music
Now that seems obvious but the beauty of this trip was the fact that all the music was ambient.

As a side note we had lots of luck with putting on aboriginal and native american music whilst doing dmt.

 

Ive had various experiences where I just let my imagination go wild and they where incredible.. all i can say is rainbows everywhere.

But the theme.. its really like getting on a space ship and going to outer space. Discovering new worlds.. you experience their civilizations rise and fall. Witness the worlds turn and grow.. I got a profound sense of cosmic awareness.

The decorations were a little over the top but the rave lighting with the visualizer and the space themed backgrounds with soft blue lighting behind it.. those were incredible.

I feel like psychedelic stuff is the worst to look while on psychedelics. If your looking at your computers visualizer and its some crazy fractal one you downloaded offline and you think im gonna look at this tripping its gonna be extra cool. Sometimes it is, but a lot of the time its just too much already on its own to be "tripitized". You much better off watching something completely unpsychedelic turn into something magnificent. Just the patterns in the rug could be the most wonderful fractals in the world. Something real like a tree, is much better then the light projector or something. Then again, it all depends on you and how much you are tripping. On high doses everything is absolutely brilliant.

 

I feel like you might be right.. on synthetic acid ive found that to be true.. I found however on acid after the visualizer that looking at still pictures was WAAAY better than any previous time.

I watched trees grow flowers that turned into giant happy suns that circled around me and then became planets as I became their center.. Full on interactive trip as apposed to just seeing awesome stuff happen.

 

sounds fun. oz of weed? eh... waste. dilutes the trip way too much.

 

an interesting idea, but i'm not sure that i would enjoy it much.
my trips do tend to have "themes," but they tend to work themselves out. the themes are things like nature, music, maybe staring into the mirror for hours. i am really into sci-fi books lately though.

 

The large quantity is because my mate is a full time weed smoker. His usual day is between a 50 and a quart and at the time his trip buddy was about the same.. so an Oz was the equivalent of buying a case of beer extra...

Cant handle the mirror thing.. To many horror movies as a child I think .

I guess my other trips have had vague themes.. things like "rainbows" or "patterns"

But nothing like this..
The way the planning can work is you can actually have a full blown storyline.. sure you dont remember much but its pretty sweet..

Its like watching a movie on acid only its your own movie..

 

I wouldn't be able to follow a script on a trip, even if it's vague. I guess if I could it would be pretty fun, but I dunno.. my balls are often too deep in the vagina of life to make any room for anything else on psychedelics. I suppose I could try stick a finger or two somewhere else, but I just really love the feel of that vagina

eh. If I would if I could. that sounds like frucking fun. though if he took breaks he could smoke a loooot less and still be as high. I'll work/school/smoke 4-5 days in a row at times, but I go through $20 of weed at most.

 

Some of the musicians of the 1960's took on thematic elements. Jimi Hendrix presenting himself as the Voodoo Childe gypsy, The Beatles through the psychedelic phase of their career, Pink Floyd playing music to correspond with light projectors at the UFO club. Kind of an interesting approach.

I haven't really tried to control my enviornment as such, or adorn myself as a character like that, often find myself in awe of nature and such.

 

I think it sounds like fun...

Its LSD laced with mescaline.
brings on visuals substantially faster.. less "fractaling" and more "space warping"

 

I miss weed being cheap.. its like tobacco here. nothing but a crazy rip off..

but still something draws me to the herb
