this concept, attractive as it may sound superficially, is entirely nonsense for a very simple reason.
history, even as inaccurately as it is taught, is filled with bitterness and vengeance.
far from preventing the repetition of its errors,
it is the most frequent excuse for perpetuating and repeating them, knowingly and intentionally.

And yet history is still important(as long as it is objective)..............what we are living now,is history in the making?

Making the same mistakes and slowly learning from them, seems to be humane nature(history;))......the question is can we grow out of this(mistakes/violence/greed/current status quo).

Sorry history buff,lol..............i would love to see the future just to see where it goes(history;))

when i look at history, what stands out to me, is all the times, how much earlier, and how often some isolated civilization did and then were concurred and forgotten, how many good and useful things and knowledge and understanding, the hatred of logic, had prevented from being discovered or invented. now of course material invention is limited by available materials, but thoughts and the consideration of possibilities are not. to a degree they are limited by other thoughts not yet having become common. but this limitation is not an absolute one. and we are no more nor less limited as much by it today, as we have been in the past.

history repeating itself is not because we forget it, if we ever actually do, but because we forget how it was caused and what perspectives, values and priorities, brought it about.
