Funny how you try and tell me what to believe. The bible clearly states that Satan is the ruler of the world right now. How do you explain human suffering?

 

I don't tell you what to believe at all, wtf. You are the one presenting your (fictional I think) beliefs as fact. You can believe everything you want for all I care.

The death of sin is living wages.

If I'm going to read a book about magic, harry potter is much better written than the bible, and has considerably more bearing on our modern lives.

 

Harry Potter reads better because it was written in more recent times as an entertaining novel, unlike the bible.

edit: I don't think people read the bible primarily because they're interested in magic either. So, it seems a strange comparison either way.

 

So if sin be an error in perception then it behooves us to learn. You have know idea what you will do nor what you would do, nor can you recall everything you have done

Really? Harry Pothead has more bearing on our lives? You under estimate your existence and God and there are modern translations which read more like a book. The king james version is a bit out dated and no one talks like that anymore

 

If this is God's world right now...why the diseases, wars and injustice?

The way things are now are not what God originally intended. Man was supposed to expand the borders of eden and make the entire earth into a paradise. That is God's purpose and it will happen in due time. Tick tock, tick tock

 

Because you do not know how to speak with the breath god breathed into you. you were told you were less than the crown of gods creation. I can describe exactly how the fall occurs and it happens every time a child is punished for making a mistake. It is what turns joyful babies into clinging insecure toddlers. It creates the impression in the virgin mind that he world is not trustworthy. And since you can't trust anything you see you can't see the trust god gave you. the church of rome poluted the whole church not just in terms of the catholic church.

 

The saying that unravels the question of when will things be put right is this.

Well I suppose you could just re-write the bible so that it's a better book, yes.

But it would make a lot more sense to write a better book that's either true, or divorced enough from that particular toxic death-causing fiction so as to be enjoyable fiction.

If I need to pursue a bible passage, I generally opt for young's literal translation. Can't imagine why I'd want to take what little meaning there is out of it....

Why not? The entire earth is a paradise. It is full of miracles. That you can imagine an utopia without diseases, war and injustice does not mean this world is crap or ruled/made by Satan/evil (abstract human concept). It's all in the eye of the beholder so to say.
And how are man not expanding 'the borders of eden' when you point out what makes this world bad and what man are supposed to do? Are we not developing systems against injustice and cures against diseases? Look at where we came from. We are doing excellent (albeit by trial and error)! God must be proud of us (if He were human)

An acceptable explanation (exegesis) of this sort of quote would probably take the line that 'death' in this context means 'dead to God's grace' or 'dead to the salvific effect of the crucifixion' or some such rubbish.

But this is a quote from one of Paul's letters to the Romans and as such it should be ignored. Not because it's to the Romans but because of who it's from.

Focus on an afterlife, when, in fact the Kingom of God is here, now.
Serious retardation of social justice, since earthly matters are by definition a 'vale of tears' in Platonic dualism, far inferior to spiritual matters.
