I think that there needs to be a massive movement toward deradicalisation in the US – I was listening to someone on the radio and they were saying what was needed was more honesty, the problem was that while politicians always gave exaggerated and spun adverse news but that it had been allowed to gone way beyond into out and out lies and alternative facts that were divorced from all reality. Some idea in no order - 1) I think ther should be a new fairness doctrine - Fairness doctrine, U.S. communications policy (1949–87) formulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that required licensed radio and television broadcasters to present fair and balanced coverage of controversial issues of interest to their communities, including by devoting equal airtime to opposing points of view. The new doctrine also covering cable and the internet and satellite. 2) Massive advertising and educational campaign 3) Coming down hard on those involved in any anti-democratic activities 4) Mentoring and counselling help
I feel like instinct toward mainstream American values will re-establish itself in most... The tendency toward the extremes of the far right have long been unacceptable in the eyes of the majority. It's hard to ignore when you are flagrantly & vociferously outnumbered, so I think many will quietly and privately realize their error and reverse course. This won't happen without support from Hollywood - TV & cinema need to be onboard, as well as the media.
