I'm talking about the mentally ill, of course. Which is why I put it here. Sometimes when people like the mentally ill are discriminated against in places like businesses, their family, even their doctors tend to take a tolerant attitude. Towards the discriminators, I mean. Anyways, just point-by-point, let me explain the answer to all the inevitable arguments these people in their lives might make: • Well maybe he just doesn't want you in his store. Why don't you just stop going there? No, because that's how discrimination works. Someone doesn't want you in their store. And you stop going. It does not matter even how nice they were. • Yeah, but what if the police arrive, and they blame you? What if they arrest you? Then the police would be in the wrong too. And they should get in trouble for it too. • Maybe he just doesn't trust the mentally ill. In the 19th Century, the Germans were the first to find acceptance as an immigrant group. And people used to say. I have nothing against Germans anymore. It's just the Irish I still don't trust. Again, that makes no difference. Discrimination is discrimination. And lastly, • What if your case is not successful? What if it's thrown out? If someone tells you that, just tell them. I think my case will be successful. And it never does any harm to try. Also, on the ways businesses discriminate, and perhaps are obnoxious in general. There is the idea of unequal enforcement of the rules. You can go in room B and C. But never room A. And everyone goes into room A anyways. That is unequal enforcement of the rules. And I think the law considers that discrimination too. Also on something weird I've noticed businesses do with people, maybe even in general. Is they are way too nice. The lady who works in the store insists, insists, on helping you and spending a lot of time on you until you get nervous. That may be nothing anyways, especially most of the time. And plus, I think that is the kind of behavior we want to encourage, being helpful, anyways.
Often when they say can i help you. When i feel put out i used to gently correct them to say may i. I discovered that i was rude. Even tho may i is correct. Also too sometimes even before i get their door good & closed i sometimes get pounced on.
