Ham. Cheese. Tomato. That's all you need. That's the bestest sammich right there. But. I don't classify subway as a sammich. That's a "roll". Also I had subway here in USA and it smelled like a subway but I didn't like the chicken. Tasted weird. I think it's all the steroids they feed 'em. =\
I stand corrected But then it was Lode who made it famous by carrying that quote in his sig...! Same here. Must be a local thing. I used to also be suprised what people in other countries throw on their sandwich in order to make it a good one That kind of chicken is plenty in Europe too Better watch it. If they mask the taste enough you might not be aware of it.
I wonder how much human I've consumed in my life time. =\ Prolly a few legs by now, maybe even a arm or two.
Subway chicken is processed all to hell, and who knows which chicken parts they're processing. You probably ate ground up chicken genitals ewww. They're supposedly moving away from antibiotics and hormones in their meat. I worked at subway in high school and I remember the day they started using genetically modified tomatoes, we were all baffled as to why our supplier started sending us these pale, unripe tomatoes. Now you can't get a decent tomato anywhere except at farmers markets or if you grow it yourself. I forgot my point - oh yeah, subway's meat and veggie quality is pretty shitty. It always hurts a little to hear that an American company is actually better in other countries, and that always seems to be the case.
My closest supermarket has a wide range of tomatos from biological to gen. modified. There's a price difference but they've got decent tomatos here everywhere. It's really that different over there??
who said anything about Subway? Why even utter that franchise name in a thread titled - The Ultimate Sandwich No, Im talking about a mom n pop vietnamese shop. Subway sandwiches could only dream of being mentioned in the same sentence as these bad boys......even though I just did
Wont be till Thursday till I can get out there again When I do, Im going to masticate like I've never masticated before (For those in Georgia, Ontario or East London, masticate means chew.)
I love fried pickles!! They are great with beer. I also like peanut butter and pickle sandwiches, has to be bread and butter pickles. But one of my favs...fresh tomato, mayo on whole wheat...that is all.
Do you think people in Georgia, ontario and east London have terrible vocabularies or something? I'm pretty sure we all know what masticate means. Although, as I type this, my autocorrect doesn't seem to know that word...
When I was a kid my Ultimate Sandwich was: Fresh white bread from the local bakery (buttered both sides) Two slices of Spam Thick layer of Bick's sweetcorn relish It was heaven. Haven't had it in literally years, but now I'm thinking about making it again, yum.
Was in Coogee this morning Bought another dim sim roll I took it somewherr private and made sweet sweet mouth love to it
I love a smoked meat with mustard on dark rye. Nice garlic dill pickle with it and I am set to go. It does have to be Montreal brisket though. Fortunately I have a friend who is down there often to see her family and brings it back for me. Yahoo for friends.
I think I may know why the Coogee sandwich makers are so good: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coogee,_New_South_Wales
