i honestly see it differently in my abstract thoughts. it's like a way to force public discourse to examine their humanity. it's bloodshed day in and day out. hundreds of thousands are dead. it feels like a wake up call was needed, but the cost in lives is exorbitant. Wonderful people, innocent people are dead or will likely be killed.
Last month I only noted a couple of losses pertaining to the T62 . Now there are over 30 documented and photographed losses of this type. This is reserve equipment ,all of it previously mothballed from the 80s and most built in the 60s and 70s . This example was captured very recently
Below are examples of Western Equipment being used by the Ukraine. The best way to evidence this to show destroyed or captured examples From Poland the T72M1 tank A Swedish Variant of the Soviet BMP1 A Dutch built YPR65 A US supplied M113a3
More captured or Destroyed Western Supplied equipment ,showing proof that it is being supplied to Ukraine in sufficient quantities Not a great picture but showing a French supplied VAB A Turkish supplied Kirppi A UK sourced Husky A UK supplied 105mm Light Artillery Gun ( i didnt know we were supplying these ) These were also used in the ceremony of the passing of the Queen
Sadly, I fear the Russian endgame is poorly served by further hostility. I have written to their government to identify with their needs as a sovereign state, as well as voice awareness for Ukraine's sovereignty to be acknowledged with hope that both countries needs will be met through diplomatic efforts to a peace treaty. I think though Ukraine has a valid expectation for protection from further aggression. But Russia objects to NATO membership... Where can Ukraine find such protection that does not involve weaponizing the Russian border? Recently we saw a border clash in Kyrgyzstan with Tajikistan. In the end, people died and there are still refugee children with nowhere to learn... their schools and homes and other places were destroyed by shelling! Well, the governments decided to meet and after a few weeks there was a truce and finally a formal agreement. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan actually decided that they would deregulate certain things to ease tensions. Border outposts would go unmanned and things would assume a more peaceful direction. I'm proud of them! But anyway, what can Ukraine do? I think their aspirations to join NATO must wait for years now, honestly; not because it's right or justice, no... because it's the only sane approach. And protest, yes! Raise awareness... with certainty! Make it known that this is not mere oppression! It's far worse! and the 100,000 are dead. But now is not the time for valor. It must wait. ----- For now, if I were a government advisor I would recommend to my leadership in Ukraine that we negotiate with Russia. Express our thoughts on what is being taken. About Donbas, I would concede - they can have it, or instead arrange relocation for citizens who feel their interests are better served by a Russian government. After all, Donbas is in Ukraine, not Russia.
That is up to the President of Ukraine and not a third party to interfere . They will not give up their country without a fight and now the Russians are on the back foot and so there is less chance of bringing Ukraine to the table in my view as they have turn the tide.
Iran is supplying war material to Russia. Iran agrees to ship missiles, more drones to Russia, defying the West-sources
Last I heard, 13 people died. All civilians. The pilots ejected and survived. This is also proof that the sanctions are slowly working, like poison. The ruskies are now having trouble maintaining their hardware, when their access to spare parts, or the materials needed to make them has been cut off.
Russia Rages After Son of Putin Official Is Nabbed on U.S. Charges The Kremlin is threatening retaliatory action after authorities arrested Artyom Uss, the son of a top Russian official, at the United States’ request, for allegedly participating in a sanctions evasion and money laundering scheme. Uss, who was detained in Milan, was charged in relation to a scheme to unlawfully obtain U.S. military technology and sanctioned Venezuelan oil in order to support Russia’s war effort in Ukraine, according to charges unsealed by the U.S. Department of Justice this week.
The Russians Are Losing 10 Tanks A Day as the Ukrainians Advance The Russian army has been losing 10 tanks every day on average since the Ukrainian army launched twin counteroffensives in eastern and southern Ukraine six weeks ago. The Ukrainian army’s own tank losses have been much lower—just two a day.
The counter argument here is ,as the Ukraine army is much smaller ,losing 2 tanks a day isnt sustainable .Russia can lose 10 tanks per day as it has vast stocks of stored equipment albeit obsolete like the T62 . Thats why in my view it is important for Ukraine to push back the Russians and press home their advantage now rather than later. One such storage facility
What truly confounds me is that we are doomed if we cannot find a way forward that doesn't assassinate the pride of the Russian Federation. Somehow, we manage to invalidate that factor with every published article and production. here is a blurb (photo-blurb) from my news feed: Belicose and substandard in terms of maturity! I'm furious! WhY?! Now someone will chime in, "What do you mean? It only says "Russian pilot...". The way I'm reading it, we're celebrating the fact that a jet crashed. Please do not misunderstand. Russian leadership must find a way forward that does not involve exploiting Ukraine and forfeiting Ukrainian lives. They are in Ukraine, and they are KILLING Ukrainians! When our news reads that, that is when you will see Russia look up from the scope of its rifle! Are we a divided world that needs to villainize someone based on their nationality? Do we know nothing? Why?!! We know better than that, and yet that is how our reporting reads, and it keeps us a little dumb, using a mentality that uses or even "requires" that someone villainize our adversary with a nasty overtone of hatred. Do we celebrate that they lose someone when they are our adversary? No! We weep because they are dying at our hands too, and not because we hate but because we wish to preserve sovereignty in the face of a violent and unnecessary invasion. We need our news to reflect our intellect; not our propensity for "hate", but our capacity for love, compassion, and understanding, especially now when our ability to lead the world globally is needed more than anything. That respect for an adversary, that universal compassion regardless of origin, nationality, ethnicity, or social position is something that is socialized in the upbringing of children everywhere, taught in schools, and a foundational aspect of every religion! We need you now.
