The most significant French contribution to Ukraine's defence consists of eighteen 155mm Caesar self-propelled guns (SPGs) delivered from April 2022 onwards, with the latest batch of six Caesars announced during a visit to Kyiv by President Macron on the 16th of June. [1] The Caesars are drawn from active stocks of the French Army, which operated 76 examples prior to the donations. The dedication of nearly a quarter of its inventory of Ceasar SPGs is a significant sacrifice compared to what other European nations have delivered, which have mostly drawn their donations from reserve stocks.

Reports are coming in that russians are retreating from the city of Lyman in the Donetsk region. Another humiliating blow to putin's russia, only a day after he decided to annex Ukrainian territories to russia. Lyman is part of the Donetsk region that russia has now claimed as their own, and strategically important because of the railway connection there. The loss of these will further hurt russian supply lines.

Ramzan Kadyrov of Chechenia has called for the use of tactical nukes, a slighty worrying reaction from him, since last time he chimed in, he called for the mobilization of rus troops, and putin listened to him. Also, Belarus is getting ready to accept 20,000 russian soldiers on their soil according to The Kyiv Independent, suggesting that another attack from the north may be coming. The Kyiv Independent also reports that more explosions have been seen and heard in a russian airbase in Crimea.

Ukraine has decided to seek Nato-membership, despite knowing that they won't be accepted while there's an active war going.
