I love this debut album from the UK's Stranglers. It's punk music with an artistic, progressive lean. Their lyrics are often sleezy and misogynistic, but also smart and witty. Musically, these guys are pretty tight as well, with some really great instrumental breaks. The keyboard playing on this album contributes in a big way to the band's unique sound. Unfortunately, nothing the band would do following this release would live up to its greatness, but The Stranglers are very much a late 70s band worth checking out.

You can listen to the full album on YouTube and see how you like it.
